It's bent. If I could find one that's not bent, I might be interested.

I’ve been hoping for years that they’d bring back the 44mag carbine. Maybe if this one does well they will do the PC44. That would be awesome.

I would be quite pleased, and lighter in the pocket, with one in .45acp.

Picked up my new Ruger carbine yesterday, shot it yesterday after noon.

I own the Kel Tec Sub2k (2nd gen), Beretta CX, and this carbine. This one is by far my favorite now. It handles well, is accurate, and suppresses amazingly. The recoil is noticeably lighter to me compared to the others. The trigger is crisp and probably around 4lbs, if I had to guess. I dont regret the purchase at all. I fully expect Magpul and other companies to make third party stuff for it, especially if they keep selling well.

I have a Sig Romeo5 coming tomorrow for it as well.

Picture for the fun of it:

Handled one today too bad it was already sold.
Stout little gun, this one wasn't bent, sure it was ugly but for $399 I don't see it possible not to pick one up having a plethora of 9mm Glock mags around.

Thanks for that, I had a hunch based on the dimensions but it's nice to be sure. Unless there's some variables I'm missing, that makes it an option for folks in the ban states, always a good thing.

Man... if they had only gone with furniture like my post on page 6, this thread would be half as long with the negative reactions, which I completely understand. I'm looking forward to Magpul, Hogue, and others jumping all over this with gusto to see what they come up with. I've wanted a 9mm carbine that feeds from Glock mags for a while and this is the one that is likely going to get my money this coming year.

Dead blow weight shortens bolt travel and reduces felt recoil and muzzle rise.

I picked mine up today and really like how it feels and fits. Knowing that the local gun shop got 10 in on Friday and I was on their call list at the 14th spot and they had 2 left including the one they were holding for me, tells me many of the others who handled this carbine liked it enough to buy one or put one on lay-a-way.

Knowing the costing codes and how to read them this volume Ruger dealers cost was $426.00. With my three lug quick connector on it I can pop my Griffn Armament Revo9 on and off of this carbine in 5 seconds. I also attached a Bushnell TRS25 on it also and the red dot lines up perfectly with the very top of the front sight. Now to get to the range with this ugly sweet feeling carbine.....I know Ken at Hogue will soon take care of the ugly part of this equation....Mark

Thanks.

Once assembled, is there ANY play, jiggle, wobble or potential thereof in the connection between barrel and all else?

3/4 Flap -No Sir. None at all. Hard to see but there is an adjustment lug built on the barrel portion of this two piece unit. You can actually adjust this lug to allow the connection to have more or less resistance. Completly adjustable and once you set it, it stays or at least it has on the two 10/22 takedowns my wife and I have and we have taken those two rifles apart and back together over a dozen times in the past two years....Mark

Update - Here is a photo of the adjustable lug on my stainless 10/22 takedown and the new 9mm carbine takedown....This will help clatify my summary above...

VERY interesting.

So Ruger did their homework...

I want one but might have to wait and see if they make one that takes the magazine for the new general issue army pistol.

Cuz I have lots of mags for that one.

Anyone else put a pre-order in with Sportsmans Superstore for $519? Just wondering if anyone had experience with them and expected wait times and so on.

Friend of mine was at the SHOT Show and talked with the Ruger Rep on these. They will be making one in 45 ACP. I am buying one!

The NRA February 2018 American Rifleman magazine has an eight page article on the Ruger PC Carbine & Security-9 Pistol.
Ruger got out in front of the U-Tube reviews that proceeded the general availability of the RAP9 which were generally negative. Negativity gets viewership thus cash flow for the reviewer. I am not a Ruger person with that said I had an opportunity to acquire a RAP9 and after 7000 plus rounds fired with no failures to feed, fire, and eject the negative U-Tube reviews were BS.

When the Ruger PC carbine becomes available in my area I'll rent one at a indoor shooting facility in my area of residence thus gain limited experience enough to decide about acquiring or not acquiring.

Put one on hold at my lgs today. Feels great in my hands and doesn’t feel cheap at all. I’ll be picking it up this week. Now I need to find a decent red dot to mount on the rifle.

For those that purchased the rifle, have you tried the Magpul Glock mags?

I pre ordered one late in December. I cancelled the order a couple days ago. Gonna look at one in person to see if it's bent. Wink

Ruger used to know how to make a handsome firearm. Look at the SP-101 and M77. Consider the LCR and this PC 9mm. WTF? It's like they went out of their way to make them ugly.

Bought mine from kygunco: $510 & 2 day shipping to my FFL in TX. Added a Sparc AR red dot & went to the indoor range. Once the dot was dialed-in I was getting 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" five shot groups at 25 yards unsupported. (Pretty good for as shaky as I am.) Fed 9BPLE, HST 147 & 124 and 124 FMJ reloads out of Glock mags perfectly. 400 rounds. May be ugly but loads of fun. Once the weather changes it's off to the 50 yard range.
