I don't know why Ruger has made these so Fugly. Not sure why they just couldn't have designed it along the lines of the MINI which is a good looking gun. I have a Camp 9 which looks similar to a Mini and I bought that over the previous Ruger 9mm carbine because of looks and feel/balance. But, if it's not reliable what good is it.

That rug really tied the room together. |
Looks like Parker Mountain Machine will possibly be the first to release an aftermarket handguard. Hopefully many more manufacturers to follow. ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow

While I applaud the attempt (and am happy to see signs of the aftermarket taking off for the PC Carbine), that thing doesn't offer much improvement in the aesthetics department, and it looks expensive. I'm really counting on Hogue to come out with a stock that is functional, looks good, and doesn't break the bank.

Choate makes a lot of different stocks for all of the other rugar semi auto rifles (10/22, mini 14,etc.). I'm willing to bet they'll come out with one for it. I shot a Marlin Camp 9 with one of their folding stocks on it and it was a really nice stock that pointed perfectly.

The way that the mag well inserts were easlly swapped out between the Glock and Ruger mag was a neat idea. Anyone working on a Sig 226 insert? Reminds me of the Marlin Camp 9 taking S&W 69-59 series mags back in the late 80s. The 40 S&W Calabur would be interesting too.

Well, I got one. $500 OTD. Added the Glock insert. Shoots straight, light and handy. Rolan Kraps SASS Regulator Gainesville, Georgia. NRA Range Safety Officer NRA Certified Instructor - Pistol / Personal Protection Inside the Home

Shouldn't this be posted in the "for sale" venue? Just asking.....

Um... No. He's not selling one. Rolan's saying that he just got one for himself. He paid $500 out the door. He then added the Glock insert. He further reports that it shoots straight, it's light, and it's handy.

Maybe I misread his post. I seem to remember when someone was looking for a certain item, he piped up with one he had for sale.I saw this happen more than once over the years.

Guys: I'm sorry I haven't read the whole thing, but will this thing be rolled out to take the SIG 320 mags? Seems a natural w/ that pistol now being "GI" and all. ********************** 53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Thanks. They HAVE to include the 320 mag set if it is an engineering possibility. Gubmnt shootin iron and all. And SIG makes a good 21 rounder. Mec-Gar needs to make a 30-rounder. ********************** 53 Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. BTT because I'm seriously considering. Any updates? Without the spacers, LOP should be just right for next gun after a Henry Mini-bolt. Grandson loves my kids' Henry. I'd say I've had mine long enough at this point to be over the "honeymoon phase". Still pretty happy with it. No reliability issues to speak of, and that's a lot more than I can say for my 9mm AR. It is a bit heavy...I took it out and shot it standing at 45 yards the other day, alongside my Marlin 1894 in .357. The Marlin was by far handier and easier to hit accurately with. But it doesn't eat cheap 9mm ammo and feed from a 30-round stick mag, either. I think part of my problem is that the Vortex strikefire red dot I have mounted is using absolute co-witness AR Rings...which are too high for a comfortable cheek weld with a traditional stock. I ordered a lower mount...I'll update once I get it in and have a chance to shoot it. I may be the odd man out, but I still wish it came with a fixed barrel rather than the takedown. I haven't really had any problems with it yet (apart from occasional unintended loosening), but the plastic tension ring does not inspire confidence. Also, while it's pretty straightforward to take down and clean, I don't like that the disassembly procedure requires tools (one allen wrench), and relies heavily on screws that could eventually strip out. You really have to torque those screws on there, especially the one for the bolt handle. If you don't it'll work loose while firing.

I just added a second spacer (it comes with 3) and a Holosun site. After sighting in it was almost boringly accurate to hit the frying pan sized gong at 100 yards. Are you sure the tension ring is plastic? The one I looked at appeared to be black anodized aluminum. Just curious if it is actually plastic.

Pretty darn sure, but I'll check again when I get home and confirm. If it aluminum, it's the cheapest feeling aluminum I've ever encountered.

Thanks, been out of pocket so haven't purchased. "Boringly accurate" is good. Of the two I've held and shouldered, one had a great trigger and the other wasn't bad either; still better than the stock MPX and scorpion. So "boringly reliable" as well?
