Chris Orndorff"Rookie" question: What's different or special about a "rimfire" scope? Updated with rifle purchase (now the scope), range report
I presume the mention of “SWCA” scopes was meant to be “SWFA”?

Yep and corrected. Thanks! Weird Freudian slip. Haven't been over there in probably 10 years.

posted by me, page 1: This, BTW, is the rifle in question: Springfield Armory Model 2020 Rimfire Classic, Grade AA Walnut At Bass Pro/Cabela's, $350, less 10% Club Card promotion. Turkish-made, Ruger 10/22 magazines can be used in it, and has an inch-at-50-yards-with-the-usual-disclaimers accuracy guarantee.
They use the curious wording "
cross-compatible with", not stating outright "
works with." A BX-15 I tried would not even go into the well. A standard 10-round locked in and "dry"-cycled the cartridges fine, but was a little difficult to remove. The supplied mag, even though it looks identical except for the logo, both inserted and removed easily. The mags are actually closely equivalent in price (within a dollar) to the Ruger's, but don't have the package-of-3 deal Ruger offers. However, with a discount code and free shipping, I was able to get three for just a little more.

Purchased. (Not for that little, but close.) This is a
really nice scope for the money, with a clear image and very positive, crisp clicks on the adjusters.
