Couple SBRs recently got approved, pics in OP

PSA 8.5” 300 BLK with SiCo Velos LBP 7.62

You can see from the orange trimming that it’s yet to be shot. Working on reloading some Subsonic for this. It’ll also serve to kill some deer next year.

CMMG Banshee MK10 with Obsidian .45

I did take this hunting a few time but didn’t see anything. The Kahles is dead on as I killed several squirrels with it. Suppressing 10mm isn’t the greatest but honestly it sounds a little louder than a .22. I also think I can load some subsonic rounds for it.

I need to get another B5 stock for blackout. Slowly transitioning all my AR-style rifle to the B5 over the CTR.

Their length doesn’t work too well with a traditional 2-point sling so I will experiment with some 1-point options I have ins storage once I get back on the property in the woods and out of the city.

1 points can be workable, if you must. But they come with some noticeable drawbacks.

What's the issue with your 2 point slings? An adjustable 2 point sling (like that VCAS) attached at the buttstock and at the rear portion of the handguard should work just fine, even on a SBR. The top one already looks to have a QD socket in that spot.

But if that's too far to the rear for you and you want it further forward by a couple inches, you can get a MLOK QD socket to mount in the rearmost slot and a half on the side of the handguard.

Or something like a Magpul RSA or IWC 45 Degree Offset Socket on the top rail could it you another inch or so further forward than that.

I'd try to find a solution for a 2 point before resorting to a 1 point.

Sweet! I submitted paperwork for my CMMG Mk 10 two weeks ago, but haven’t gotten approvals back yet. Also will be using an Obsidian 45 when I get around to removing the linear comp it came with. Actually submitted three eform 1s on the same day and hope they all come back as a batch early in January.

Otto. That looks good. I shoot Vihtavuori N110 powder and a 200 grain bullet for subsonic loads. Super accurate. Super stupid quiet. Super clean. I don’t know if it will cycle your AR but, I think you would like it.

Good points. I ran a 1 point for a while until I got tired of it dragging on my neck and hanging up on everything on me. Then w/ suppressors after ripping through some rounds it got hot enough to burn points upon the body and clothing. Ask me how I figured that one out.

Damn, that Obsidian is long! Do you happen to know of the 9mm version is as long as the .45? I've been considering one for my 9mm carbine, but it's a 16" gun. Not the end of the world, but it'll be like 24" by the time I put one of those on there. How much does it affect the balance of the gun?

I it’s longest form it’s 8.6, shortened it’s 6.7.

The 9 is shorter in both forms.

They're my new favorite. I've used CTR's and SL-K's mostly until I got my first Bravo. I quickly got a second and will slowly cycle out the other stuff until I'm switched completely over. Excellent stock.

Cool. I mostly use BCM Mod 0 stocks and MFT Minimalist stocks. Never was too impressed with Magpul's AR stock options after trying a few different models.

You have good taste Otto! I'm building a 300 blackout with a Trijicon Ta33 and have a SiCo Velos 762 on the way.

Question or 3. What mount for your Trijicon optic and what height does it come in at? What reticle did you go with? I have a Larue LT105 mount, but I want to try out a taller one and see if I like it. I also went with the 300 Blackout which has a + as the reticle. It's designed around holds for 300 blackout, but I have always preferred red horseshoe reticles. I think I am going to trade for a 7.62x39 red horseshoe reticle. The distance holds for supersonic ammo should be basically the same.
