davidjinksColt LE6721
I recently picked this rifle up from a friend. It’s a heavy girl, but she shoots well, even with a 1:9 barrel. I decided to put her in to the roll of a DMR. I may add a DD RIS III FF rail but we will see. Currently wearing a NF 2.5-10x24, Radian Raptor CH, Schmid ambi-safety, KAC RAS, KAC BUIS rear, and SOPMOD stock. I changed out the Magpul SL on it only because I get a better cheek weld.

davidjinks1.54, Nightforce A496 mount.
Tried 1.70 and 1.93, didn’t like them as they don’t coincide with how I shoot.

bubbatimeThese rifles will shoot .75 MOA all day long with good ammo. Very good barrels.

davidjinksI’m going to order a couple different loads of match ammo and put it on a bench.
I wish blackhills 69 grain 5.56 was available. I’ve used that stuff before and it always shit great.

powermadNice looking rifle.
To get the pics sized for forums select the large thumbnail at the bottom before selecting the BB code.
The default is original size.

davidjinksYou know, I was gonna ask why my images are so dang large. I couldn’t figure it out.
I’ll give that a shot.

Yes, I've got a 1990s vintage 6721 upper and a 6721 barrel, also from the 1990s, that I built into an upper with a JP Enterprises handguard.
This 1:9 16" HBAR barrel makes teeny, tiny little groups with 55 grain ammunition. The only downside is the weight.

davidjinksThe rifle is noticeably heavier than say a standard LE6920. Adding the KAC M4 RAS and forward grip adds a bit more weight up front. However, adding the SOPMOD stock and where the scope sits, it balances very well cutting down on the felt heaviness.
I’ll post some groups, hopefully this weekend, when I go back out. I’m hoping my local shops have some match ammo in stock.

WRAM1There is a very good thread on AR15.Com covering the 6721
https://www.ar15.com/forums/ar...Accuracy/118-762430/I have a 90s vintage 6721 that is incredibly accurate with 55 and 62 grain rounds. I have not tried anything heavier yet but intend to do so one just to see but I am happy with what it does with 55 as that is the majority of what I have on hand. For daily use, I run an Aimpoint Comp M2 and KAC RIS. It’s old school Colt quality and actually pretty light when compared to ARs with lights, lasers, optics, suppressors, etc.

davidjinksI read that thread a few times. Mines not free floated, however that may change with a DD RIS III FSB rail.

AlyronI ran a 6721 as my duty rifle for years. It's a big pin version bought during the Clinton ban with LEO markings. Ran it with both an Aimpoint and an ACOG at times. Still have it and it still shoots tiny groups. Set up with a Troy Rail, ARMs BUIS, Geissele trigger, and a Grip pod. Heavy for a duty gun but never a malfunction or issue. Went thru several rifle courses (each in excess of 1K rounds). It's the only AR I will never get rid of.
