Rangefinder recommendations please
I'd like to buy a rangefinder before my annual Thanksgiving week hunting trip. I head to NC each year to hunt with my buddy from high school, and I've always wanted a rangefinder. Most shots are between 70 and 250 yards, but there are some stands that could stretch to about 400. I've seen a wide range of options on Cabela's, are any of the cheaper options any good? Or do I need to think about $250 and up? I'm thinking of hunting more out west so the uses would be for deer hunting in NC, VA, and some Western hunts.

Cheap ones as a rule have subpar optics, low magnification, longer response time or are not reliable.

I have 2 Vortex Razor HD 4000 ones, one I use and 1 new in the box I will sell for a steal if you are interested.

A premium LRF isn't required for such distances, even with non-reflective targets -- i.e. game. I recommend looking through the various models at your gun store and go from there.

Given your application, even a golf-based LRF works. I have a Vectronix Terrapin and Swavo LRF binos. My Bushnell golf rangefinder stacks up well against the Vectronix and the Swavo, at any conceivable distances you would be hunting.
