TompowScorpion EVO Pinned Barrel
If I pin and weld a permanent extension (aftermarket)to my Scorpion which increases the barrel length to 16", am I ok to now add a stock and shoulder it?

SigM4You should be yes. Easier solution might be to buy a carbine barrel for it. That way you could always swap it back to pistol length if you ever wanted to.

Jus228Does that change its classification from a pistol to a rifle though or just a long barreled pistol?

I would make it a rifle, which is ok since it was a pistol first. Going rifle --> pistol is a no-no.

TAPGuessing you haven't looked at the 'brace' options instead of changing out the barrel?

Unless it was a pistol in the first place.

Did anyone ask the pistol how it prefers to identify?

Nah, since they don't currently possess the right to vote.

kimberkidWhy not just replace the barrel with a carbine barrel? EVO barrels come with its own trunion, just remove the 8-10 screws and split the receiver and drop the carbine barrel in; then you can go back and forth at will ...
