I have the original 590 that requires an adapter for mini-shells, will stick with that. If I bought now, I'd go with the no adapter 590S, can mix lengths. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Sigmund,

Pure badass. Good on Mossburg for this.

That is pretty cool but would probably break my wrist. I saw one the other day at a local gun store and they look really neat. With the right load, it might not be so bad.

I like it, good for firing one handed out a car window.
Er, I mean… allegedly.
I loved my shockwave, but queen Kathy deemed them far too dangerous end it had to go live with someone else.

For the MSRP, and given the popularity of the 590S Shockwave, I too am surprised that Mossberg didn't make an "S" model available for use with short shells from the git-go.

Too bad Beretta is too conservative to offer something like this.

I love my 500 pistol. That would be awesome. With 00 buck, whoohoo!

Me too. I just reread my link in the OP and the Mossberg site (link below) and saw nothing about mini-shells in the 990.
I've got the original 590, and after shooting a few full-size low recoil shells I decided to fire only mini shells.

I would get a lot of practice reloading that.
