I have the original 590 that requires an adapter for mini-shells, will stick with that. If I bought now, I'd go with the no adapter 590S, can mix lengths.

Pure badass. Good on Mossburg for this.

That is pretty cool but would probably break my wrist. I saw one the other day at a local gun store and they look really neat. With the right load, it might not be so bad.

All I use in my 590 are mini-shells like these:

I like it, good for firing one handed out a car window.

Er, I mean… allegedly. Wink

I loved my shockwave, but queen Kathy deemed them far too dangerous end it had to go live with someone else.

For the MSRP, and given the popularity of the 590S Shockwave, I too am surprised that Mossberg didn't make an "S" model available for use with short shells from the git-go.

Too bad Beretta is too conservative to offer something like this.

I love my 500 pistol.
That would be awesome. With 00 buck, whoohoo! Eek

Me too. I just reread my link in the OP and the Mossberg site (link below) and saw nothing about mini-shells in the 990.

https://www.mossberg.com/firea.../990-aftershock.html

I've got the original 590, and after shooting a few full-size low recoil shells I decided to fire only mini shells.

I would get a lot of practice reloading that.

Pretty sure the mini's won't cycle the action

It is cool

That would be extra spicy for sure. It is odd they haven't even tried anything similar yet.

Offered what Remington can't.

I want this with wooden furniture.

Amen to that. That would be so sweet.

Rock Island/Armscor has a semi-auto as well, and two of them are magazine-fed.

I've come close to getting the Shockwave pump multiple times since it came out & I'm glad I haven't purchased one.

The Aftershock is definitely on my list to get once the newness dies down. I have the Mossberg 940 JM pro to shoot clay with & hope the 990 runs as well as it does. A stamp & stock on it would make it a cool & fun to shoot SBS you can use for the house.

I've come to prefer shooting a semiauto shotgun over the pump. To me, the semi is more pleasant to shoot.

What can't Remington do? Were you referring to the Remington TAC-13?

Remember? Remember when? Memberberries. They don't offer squat now.

Remington could pump these out to all time profits, but can't do shit.

Honest question, what is the use case for these? Not everything needs to be practical and I bet they’re a hoot at the range. I guess as compact defense in grizzly country. Is there any other instance where this is honestly better than other options out there?

Man, with a stock this thing would be a badass short barreled shottie…
