SIG SAUER MPX (Update: Exclusive Non-NFA version P7)
Got my MPX months ago. Finally got my tax stamp from the ATF and went out to shoot as an SBR. Had fun. Shot 300 rounds. Very accurate and no hiccups. Love the MPX!!

Congrats! When did you submit your Form 1 and how long did it take? My last two Form 1s took approximately 30-40 days, I've heard it's back up to three month wait these days?

Also, which stock did you put on and where did you get it?

I picked mine up Monday and taking it out to the range this Saturday for full function check and I plan on doing the form 1 on Monday if all checks out good.

LDD,

Could you please check if the 6.5" barrel will be available? I am receiving conflicting information on the barrels.

It looks like there is another player making the MPX stock adapter, it is cheaper than the $250 one currently available https://www.veriforcetactical....tock-tubes-usa-made/ . Not quite as low as the ones for the CZ Scorpion, but it is getting there.

Aren't those out, now, and only the 4" and 8" will be produced?

No spare barrels are out yet and I am trying to confirm if the 6.5" barrel will be available. I am hearing yes and no on that one and just trying to get an accurate answer.

Isn't the SD spec'd for a 6.5" barrel?

And didn't I read somewhere that a SA version of the SD might be available at some point? Maybe that was wishful thinking but I thought I read it somewhere "authoritative".

I believe it is a 6.5" barrel but it's not a stand alone barrel as the "muzzle brake" is permenately attached to it.

I think you are thinking the MPX-C which has the long "muzzle brake"/baffle stack. This has not been released while Sig and the AFT still battle over the brake.

I am talking about the MPX-SD with the integrated suppressor, which is limited to select-fire/LE at this point.

I'd be we are years from seeing either of those, if ever.

Rhino,

Sig has apparently added the carbine to their offering lost in anticipation of the AFT clearing the mono-core baffle stack.

A semi-auto SD will be longer given apparent LE/military interest for the select-fire version.

I am not sure what the MPX SD barrel length is but if I were to guess, I am thinking under 6.5" to keep the velocity down.

Again, I'll believe it when I see it.

It's not hard to make up some electronic codes to push into the computer saying something is coming... but to make them appear on the shelf of a LGS or available for internet sale, as a working and bug free weapon, that is another thing altogether...

MPX has been coming for what, 3+ years now? While SIG did some good work avoiding most of the P320 beta testing (aside from the adverse trigger), the rest of their stuff (MPX / MPC / P938 / etc) seems to remain squarely in the AIM, FIRE, READY mold...

JMO,

Wink

Very funny...and unfortunately, true, too! Good post.

Just calling it like I see it. And it is only my opinion, worth what ppl pay for it.

For my money, the CZ Scorpion Evo fills the role I wanted to put the MPX into - with a mature firearm, at a much more reasonable price (weapon and magazines), from a respected company.

Only real downside is having to play the 922r reindeer games if you SBR the Scorpion, but beyond that it's an easy match for a Gen 1 MPX / 9MM only, for about 1/2 the price for weapon and ten 30rd magazines ($800 + $200 vs $1200 + $750). Add in the 30rd CZ mags are a good 1.5-2" shorter than the MPX Lancer 30s...

As such, I sold my MPX magazines, cancelled my open order for an MPX-K, and moved on. Maybe in 1-5 years if the MPX has stuck around I'll revisit it. Or maybe not. Until then I'll depart this thread but maybe my perspective can be useful to some contemplating a 9MM weapon like the Scorpion / MPX / etc.

Way to shit on this MPX thread Rhino. The CZ is not even in the same class as the MPX but glad your happy with your purchase.

You should leave emotion out of it. Wink And the Scorpion is a direct competitor to the MPX here in the US, like it or not.

This isn't a fanboy forum - so prove what I said isn't truthful, while proving your opinion of "class", whatever that is.

Or maybe I hit a little close to the mark?

It's an MPX thread not a CZ thread and no I am not taking it personal. The MPX is far more technically advanced than the CZ will ever be and as far as the cheaper magazines, people are already complaining that the all plastic magazines are cracking at the feed lips. I've put hundreds of rounds through one MPX magazine and 0 issues.

Took 3 months. I'm using the folding stock that came with the mpx.
