The problem was discovered while making the video so it all goes together. Also I don't really think it's a big issue. Most of us will swap out the triggers/firing mechanism anyway and if there is a wide spread problem with the pins walking out, the problem should be solved after the replacement.

I believe this to be an isolated incident. Others have fired hundreds of rounds and the ones at Shot Show range day had thousands of rounds through them and no pins walking out. The guy that posted the video got an MPX that something wasn't put together right or the detent that holds the pin in place was bad.

There are no detents holding those pins in place... if they're truly the same as AR15 FCG's as we've been told.

I didn't mean detent but the part that locks into the groove of the trigger and hammer pin.

I had always thought that the anti-rotation pins on an AR were a solution in search of a problem, I'd never really seen them walk out before.

I guess the real question is, which part is out of spec? Are those pins too small or the holes in the receiver too big? One of those is easier to fix than the other.

Is it possible something else caused this issue? Over-oiling the trigger or some such on the part of the owner?

I for one will wait to make a judgement until we have a few more reports back.

Can't be for certain at this point, but 90% likely that the 4" "k" version will be offered in the same configurations as the current 8". So, if the pattern holds true, production will be ~ 5% will be factory SBR, 20% will be w/o brace and 75% will come with SBX.

It's unknown if they will be Gen2 or Gen1.

Basically there is a vague anticipated release date for the K (late second quarter 2015-third quarter 2015). If the "Gen2" modifications are done by the time the Ks are ready to produce, then the Ks will come out with Gen2 uppers. If they are not, then the Ks will come out with the Gen1 uppers and then production will switch over to the Gen2s become the standard upper receiver of the entire line. The last time I talked with SIG, they wouldn't promise that Gen2 receivers would be done for the K rollout, more likely that the first Ks would be Gen1.

I personally would prefer a K to an 8". I never liked the MP5K, but there's something about the MPX-K that's just more attractive, aesthetically. I'd also be a nice look with a recessed suppressor and a long handgaurd ('dat SD looks man).

I will only be using MPX-K with 9mm so Gen 1 will be fine.

Well I just fired close to 400 rounds and not 1 malfunction of any kind. Trigger and hammer pins are fine with no monvement that I can see.

I shot a few magazines through mine yesterday....rapid and slow fire. The trigger pins are in place. The lack of spare magazines is slightly annoying. I like to load my mags prior to heading to the range. Having to reload the same magazine after firing gets old quickly. For the price and it using a proprietary magazine, I believe it should've shipped with two. It's not the easiest magazine to load because of the spacing between the feed lips. The last 10 or so rounds become increasingly difficult to load.

I had no issues loading the magazines at all. My almost 14 year old daughter was able to load them as well, she just took longer. Are loading them just like a AR15/M4 magazine? Just line it up and push down, was very easy.

Yep I'm loading them the same as an AR magazine. I'm getting a nice crease in the brass from the metal feed lip. Not deep, but it's still a crease nonetheless. I'm sure the spring will loosen up over time. Not a deal breaker, just a pain in the ass.

Make sure you get some 20 rounders. I have one 20 rounder and it loads pretty easy all the way to the last one.

I have back in stock notifications on several sites. I'm hoping to see mags for sale soon. It's a fun gun to shoot no doubt. I'm very pleased with it.
