Bought a Golden ring 3-9 in 1991 for my Mini-14.
Haven't had it out in years. The rotating ring to adjust the magnification
is very hard to turn, and my arthritis doesn't help. Is there a way to
lubricate it? Don't want to ruin a nice scope.

Contact Leupold in Beaverton, Or. They are incredibly helpful there. They will fix you up. Trust me.

I had a couple of many years-old rimfire special scopes with the same issue that they fixed for me. The only cost was sending the scopes to them.

You can purchase switch view levers for many scopes. Here are some examples.

I've had Leupold for 45 plus years and have sent a few back along with every other brand I've tried. Leupold has always treated me well!

I had a new Leupold that the power ring was hard as heck to turn. I put a throw lever on it and it ended up breaking. Sent scope back to Leupold and they fixed it. Sucks that it will cost you about $15 to ship it to them, but they will fix it.

Exactly this. Leupold fixed one scope for me that had a power stiff ring. Another with the same problem, they replaced the whole scope.

I have a Leupold spotting scope. Cost about 500.00 made in America. It is very hard to adjust the yardage adjustment. I sent it back to Leupold for a repair. They told me they couldn’t fix it as it was within their standards. To say I was pissed off is a understatement!
