I love these matches you run with the old iron, man. Though I must admit I felt a twinge of Rhino’s sentiments when imagining how/if I was going to do the same, I couldn’t stomach the idea of dropping a vintage mag or functioning flush-fits on the ground to get potentially stomped on by the guy following me with the timer. I’ve got some stainless 8rd Wilson’s I wouldn’t feel bad about using.

What ammo are you using? Any thoughts about picking up an 1898 to complete the trifecta?

Pretty cool. I agree, watching you cycle that Mossberg was sweet.

Thanks guys! I can empty the Mossberg pretty well. Loading it back up is another kettle of fish LOL.

Ammo is federal bulk birdshot and Winchester slugs in the shotgun, handloaded 168 Nosler CC and 110 vmax in the Garand, and handloaded 200 grain LSWC in the 1911. I usually shoot plated 230 ball loads but I was trying to burn these up.

I would absolutely love a real correct trench gun but they're kinda pricey lately.

Very impressive. I can't SEE a target at 370 yards, much less hit it with irons. Nice work with the 1911 also.

Thanks! Yeah the 370 yard ones were basically fuzzy blurs. I got lucky.

I love it when you hit the steels with the M1 and the other targets fell down due to shock.

Yeah, and that was with the 110s I loaded specifically for the plate rack. I usually run 168s. With those I hit the guard/protector and it still knocks 3 plates down Big Grin

I used to shoot my M1 in rifle and multi gun matches quite a bit. Lots of fun.

After the last rifle match I did the math in my head and figured out how many hundreds of dollars the match cost me. And that's why it was the last match. Big Grin

I inherited 20 lbs of H4895 and I paid .20/ea shipped or less for my rifle projectiles so it's actually cheaper for me to shoot my Garands than my ARs. And I figure it's cheaper than therapy. Big Grin
