By "carry strap" do you mean a sling? If so, I use a similar setup on both of my Remington 870 shotguns: A) Front sling mount is a side sling bar on the magazine tube, either an integral one to an extension like this: https://wilsoncombat.com/exten...2-shot-12-gauge.html or a separate plate that is installed behind the mag extension or mag tube end cap, like this: https://wilsoncombat.com/sling...-plate-side-870.html B) Rear sling attachment is either on a nylon buttstock adapter similar to this: https://www.blueforcegear.com/...ttstock-adapter.html or a buttstock with an integral side sling bar: https://magpul.com/sga-stock-r...?mp_global_color=118 C) Sling itself is a Blue Force Gear VCAS: https://www.blueforcegear.com/vickers-sling

For home use, I have a Winchester 1300 concealed in my kitchen with a carry strap style sling that has 10 additional shell loops. The gun is unlikely to be deployed slung, so the ability to carry it over the shoulder and have the sling double as a place to store spare ammunition close to the receiver (and keep the gun flat for its hiding place) was appealing. This gun also has a light at about the 2 o'clock position, so the sling hanging at 6 o'clock works well. For work purposes, I like a single point on a pump gun. I see the role of the shotgun (and the pump action in particular) to be better served by a single point since stability from the sling is less likely to matter at "shotgun distances) and you are really limited in mounting positions for the forward point of a tactical style two point. Tactical style two points may also be an issue for the weapon light depending on where and how the light is mounted. More applicable to pool guns, but we've also found single points are easier to swap from the left to the right side for left handed shooters. Note that I generally do not care for single point slings. Finally, just to round things out, with a semi-auto, I'm more okay with the two point tactical style sling as long as the gun allows it to be mounted in a way that is comfortable for the shooter and that does not interfere with the use of the weapon's controls or the weapon mounted light.
