Last week I purchased a Aero Precision M5 upper and lower in 6.5 and needed a optic for it, so I stole the 2-10 PST off of my Noveske N6 and mounted up a 1-4 Viper PST. I had been wanting to lighten up the N6 to make it a more useful gun and not just a gun to take to the range to shoot from the bench and this change of optics accomplished what I was looking to do. With the larger optic and bipod, it was a heavy beast. It is now MUCH more maneuverable and can be carried and used as a hunting/battle rifle without issue. My greatest concern with swapping the optics was a deterioration in accuracy due to the lower magnification. My first day out in the new configuration put that to ease. The attach pic is two 6 shot groups at 100 yds using my hand load of 169gr SMK, 44GR SWP, BR2 primer and Federal brass. As you can see, it shot lights out for a large frame 308 gas gun. The only issue is the optic is set for .2 mrad per click or .72 inches. That red dot is 1”. I shot the first group and it hit a little left. I did one click and it moved exactly .72” right. 1 mrad would have centered it dead center. No problem, I can live with it for it intended use. I now have a more useful gun and can still take advantage of the 16” barrel out to 500yds with the 1-4.

I’m looking, and I’m not seeing pics of the firearm. (JK thanks for posting this. I have a 1-6 on my .308 and have had similar results.) “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”—H.L. Mencken
