How do you like the obsidian? Did you have to buy a fixed barrel spacer to mount it to the rifle? What mounting solution are you using? I'm seriously considering one of those for my 9mm PCC, just waiting to get ahead of some bills and replenish my rimfire ammo stockpile before I spend the money.

I ordered a Rugged 3-lug setup up a couple weeks ago. Still a month out from getting the mount off backorder according to Rugged. So I found a Griffin set online for 100$. Just got it today so only able to install the suppressor tonight. Haven't shot it yet.
For fixed barrel and PCC it seems 3-lug or direct thread is the way to go. I may go direct thread in the end as I won't use this on any other firearm.
Subsonic 10mm is hard to find, but once I find some 220 grain bullets in stock, I have the brass, primers, and powder to make 500 or so. Gonna be a fun little gun I think

OttoSig doesn't sound like he has shot his Obsidian much. I have both the 9mm version and the 45 version and quite a few rounds. I think its a very nice can, good sound, easy to maintain. I don't use the make it shorter feature (adapt I think they call it) but others might find it useful. I run all my 9mm with trilug. IMO anything else seems silly on a PCC. The 45 I use trilug on my B&T but can't on the LWRC as it needs a booster. I wish there was a way to fix that. If you can run the 45 trilug its as good as the 9mm one in terms of mounting. The 45 can on a 9mm even running the 9mm endcap definitely gives up something to the 9mm setup in terms of suppression. All FWIW.

My plan is to buy the 9mm version as I don't have any .45s that I would suppress. I might try it on a couple of handguns but the primary use would be on the PCC. I may eventually build a .300blk upper to shoot subsonics, too, but that would be a ways down the road.

A future 300 BLK is the main reason I bought the 30 cal can. A 10 pound gun doesn’t need another pound+ on the end of it. Definitely gonna need a bipod for the AR10. Suppressing fire is the only purpose it would serve lol.

9mm PCC, 3 lug on the barrel and on the Obsidian 9 and be totally and completely happy. Its a very nice can. I think I probably have a dozen 9mm suppressors and in the great scheme of things balancing price, weight, sound, maintenance and the rest of the stuff its probably the best of them IMO. If some specific thing is your top priority then you might like something else but its pretty well balanced.

Glad to hear this, I did quite a bit of research and nowadays a clear cut favorite in cans isn’t as easy as 10-15 years ago but my research brought me to the same conclusion you’ve come to in real world use.
And like you I doubt I’ll ever shorten the can. If I needed to save 2” I’d buy a shorter barrel.

I have a Rugged Obsidian 9 for a 9mm PCC and also have the parts to use it on a Glock. It has been a while, so I can't remember if I had to purchase the fixed barrel stuff separately. If you are going to use it on a PCC, I recommend using a 3 lug mount. Simple, easy to use, and with no possibility of it coming unthreaded. I am not a fan, personally, of direct thread mounts. I like my expensive silencers to be locked in place.

Agreed,I am really happy with mine. I have it on a SBRed CMMG Banshee RDB. It is excellent.

I have a fixed barrel spacer so that I can use the Obsidian 9mm on a 22lr. I don't use it much because I am usually shooting subsonic ammo, which is already hearing safe out of a 16" barrel rifle.
It pretty much lives on the PCC. I have put it on the Glock a few times, but other than just for plinking at the range, suppressed pistols are just too bulky to be very utilitarian.
