They were blowing out these on GB for $899 (MSRP is $1,799). Got mine yesterday. The finish is worn on the front edge of the hand guard on one side and on the bottom along the front edge of the HG.

I guess I missed out on that one. Nice snag.

I know nothing about it, so I'll ask. What makes this rifle a $2k MSRP firearm?

How is it compared to the PSA JAKL, which can be had for much less?

Here’s a review of it. I don’t have enough experience with it to be a reliable source of info. I can say it’s very heavy but seems very solid.

Masterpiece Arms made the MPAR which is an AR18 variant as well. This looks like they copied that one.

But yes, a JAKL makes way more sense in 2023.

Nice score, man. You gonna get that one cerakoted the match the collection, or leave it as-is?

I’m going to keep it as is and put it through its paces this weekend shooting it back to back against the IWI Carmel, JAKL, Sig Spear, Legacy MCX, 556xi, FM15, ARX100, Perun X16, Bren 2, BRN180, Robinson XCR and Brigade Makasi (they’re supplying a sample for testing). I’m pretty stoked to see how all of these stack up in some scenario based testing.

I’m looking forwards to your results and impressions.

Good deal. I’ll post a link to the video as soon as it’s up. The scenario for this comparison is being in the parking lot when the two Hollywood Bank of America shooters come out spraying. So we’ll start with each shooter running to a firing position, getting X hits on steel targets before running to a second firing position, and re-engaging the steel with a mag change in the mix. We’ll time each run and then have a sheet for them to give impressions on the characteristics (trigger, ergonomics, recoil, handling, etc.) of each gun while it’s fresh on their mind.

Then we’ll ask them to pick a favorite and a back up they’d want on hand if they had this in a real world scenario, and why. I’m debating asking them which they definitely wouldn’t want.

All of this is going to be shot with steel cased ammo to see which guns have dietary issues. I wish I could drop $5k on ammo to make this a full review of each of the guns but it’s not in the cards.
