For argument’s sake, I wonder if a railed receiver would have enough room and geometry for an ACOG/rmr and laser. Flashlight on upper handguard rail section, or just drilled and bolt up a scout light with no mount.

Unsure on ACOG. I have used an Eotech and laser and an Aimpoint and laser in the configuration you describe; light on the plastic handguard. It works.
Edit: It's relevant to mention that the laser was a Steiner in an ADM mount that provides some cantilever out over the handguard. I am almost certain the ACOG config would work; I'll see about making it happen, to prove the concept.
Edit 2: The ACOG setup certainly works, and would work without the laser being on the cantilever mount. This message has been edited. Last edited by: KSGM,

My 553R, in the style Voshterkoff mentioned. It is much preferred, for me, over the use of a quad or M-Lok handguard. It is better with a more contemporary "micro" red dot sight, like a T2, because you can get the dot further forward. 553RThis message has been edited. Last edited by: KSGM,
