Guys, guys. Listen! *distracting hand motions* It should be there today. I hope the LGS has a couple mags and a castle nut wrench in stock. I forgot to order them with the kit.

You don't have to have a castle nut wrench, you can use a punch and hammer to tighten the nut snugly. That was the method I used on my build. When you get it finished I hope you'll post a picture or two. ___________________________________________________________________________ "....imitate the action of the Tiger."

My apologies, I meant the bolt catch roll pin.

Congrats and good luck. Building a rifle is a great exercise, hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Let us know if you hit any snags along the way so we can help.

That was pretty easy. | |||

I used an automatic center punch to put it in. Took about 7 hits but it worked really easily.

Cool. Yeah there's not much to putting one together. Easy enough it tends to result in more. I'm at no more until I get another safe or sell something.

I'd like to personally thank P220 Smudge for getting me to build and own an AR again and clubleaf206 for seeing that I needed a rear sight and sending me one in the mail. Thanks fellas! Here is the rear sight installed:

You're welcome, hope you get good use from it. So, does this mean that we can put the blame on P220 Smudge for all this? ___________________________________________________________________________ "....imitate the action of the Tiger."

Yeah, I asked him questions and then sent him links to PSA's daily deals until he couldn't say no. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

I took this to the range for a function check. Everything worked as expected. PSA Freedom kits seem good to go. If you wait for deals and buy the blems you can have a sub $400 gun that runs just fine. Using iron sights at 30 yards is hard to see and to try to see where you hit sucks. I need a spotting scope. From what I can tell it shoots a little low and to the left. I didn't adjust the sights this time. Maybe next time when it warms up.

OMG that was painful to watch! I really don’t understand these comments about using bags and magnets either. The very first time I built an AR (around ‘92 or ‘93 and before I had a home computer), after I ejected the front t/d spring & detent and spent an hour or so looking for them, I thought “it can’t be this hard”. So on my second attempt I inserted the spring and compressed it, held it compressed with a needle through the weep hole, dropped in the detent and slid in the takedown pin then pulled out the needle … no problem. If you really want something you'll find a way ... ... if you don't you'll find an excuse. I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either
