PSA is sending me a lot of emails with deals this week. I can get a complete rifle for about $525 after all fees. Am I nuts not to get one? I bought an upper & lower from them a few years ago and had no complaints. Anyone have recent experience with PSA?

My current PSA rifle.

I bought a "blemished" upper from PSA once. There was a tiny rub mark on the receiver that could barely be seen, and it ran perfectly.

The only blemish on the one I bought before was that the anodizing on the lower had a bluish tint. I don’t need another AR but the price just seems too good to pass up.

My lower is a blem. Never could find it.

Coworker has a few things in his cart. If I didn't have a project car in the garage taking all my play funds, I'd be shopping too.

If you want a 5.56 it's a good way to go, but (FWIW) prices on other affordable ARs are coming down a it too. It's tempting, but I think I'll hold out and see how the bottom feeding is in a bit.

I’ve purchased two PSA blem uppers and I could find none.

I bought a complete A4 upper, CH, BCG and all pretty cheaply and I've also purchased a couple of BCGs separately.

The upper was supposedly a blem and I spent a while looking for the imperfection and never found it. Maybe I'm not picky enough.

Anyway, the upper and the BCGs all run well with absolutely no problems.

I have several PSA blem lowers. I couldn't find blemishes on them.

I am also not sure what constitutes a blem gun/part from them. I have bought a few things and never noticed anything different from any other standard part.

I think PSA has figured out that “blem” works better than “sale, this week only”.

I built a PSA AR pistol for my bro…the blemish was a dot inside the lower where the anodize didn’t stick or there was a dot of oil..the size of a flake of pepper…didn’t affect the gun in any manner.

Maybe they are not blemmed at all - just some creative marketing to sell more units without really looking like you are discounting. Wink

Before finding out about PSA, I owned one AR15 (apost banned Colt 6721). After talking to my son's friend, I started buying lowers and uppers from PSA. Now I have 10 or 11, pistols, 7.62x39,carbines ect.
Moral of the story, be careful, they multiply!!!

I always thought of it as some sort of accounting gimmick - write off the "blems" - but still sell them at a discount and still make some money.
(If that's even possible.)

I've yet to find an actual blem on any of the PSA blems I've seen.

We transfer a lot of “Blem” Psa stuff people have sent in.

Most of the time I don’t care, but sometimes while I have it open getting serial I’ll take a look for a Blem and never really find anything out of the ordinary. I think others are correct just a marketing ploy

I’ve purchased more than my fair share over the years and recently bought the mid length gas upper like in OP photo last month except mine has the regular khaki colored M4 hand guards which I replaced with a slim Magpul moe hand guard. Nitride barrel, BCG, Charging handle, 16” barrel all for $279. It uses their freedom line barrels. Not a thing in the world wrong with that blem that I can tell.
