The first rifle I bought for myself was a 243. All due respect given. It was and is a good round. It however is OBSOLETE! The 6 Creedmoor is simply a superior choice for any new rifle purchase. Easily available new rounds and simply better choices to buy than venerable old ones..........

Remember, this is all supposed to be for fun...................

Can't say I've seen 6 Creed on the shelves, locally, as compared to 243 (hunting type ammo) and 6.5 Creed.

Have you seen the CZ 600 Trail?

https://cz-usa.com/product/cz-600-trail

It comes in two easy to find, relatively inexpensive calibers.

.223 and 7.62x39

I will admit, in the past I had a great time doing that with a M60, but it was at 100,

just about anything out there will do that easily,

for the money, go tikka,

Isn't there a major recall/issue with the CZ 600?
That said, I do like the trail model looks.

Yes. I see that. It has to do with the interchangeable barrels. Their fix is a permanently installed barrel so that the interchangeable barrel function is no longer avaiable.
