My great Uncle left me a couple of guns when he passed many years ago and this was one. Its a 1947 ish Win 62. It's been a while since I have just shot for the sheer joy of it. Just making noise and enjoying the smell and mechanics etc. and getting this old girl out was just the thing. It's such a smooth and well-made gun and it's an absolute joy to shoot. So Uncle thanks for the smile in these uncertain times. ![]() Take Care, Shoot Safe, Chris

I have the Taurus clone of that gun. Only Taurus I would own. I like yours better.

I also have a taurus clone. I've shot it so much I had to replace the trigger / sear. Ironically I threw this one in the truck when my buddy and I went to the range to dial in a remington speedmaster his uncle gave him. We both had a blast shooting that pump gun. You're a lucky man to have inherited one that nice. Regards, Kent j You can learn something from everyone you meet, If nothing else you can learn you don't want to be like them It's only racist to those who want it to be. It's a magazine, clips are for potato chips and hair

It really is a fantastic rifle. Light, handy, comfortable, fast, extremely well made and very well cared for. I am very thankful to have it and I enjoy being able to in some small part experience history. I never even knew Taurus made a 62 clone. Thanks for the kind thoughts. I have a 62a that I got from an older nephew. He taught me to shoot it when I was a kid. He is now in his late 80's. He does not shoot much anymore. He gave it to me a few years ago, with the caveat that I would take him to the range anytime he wanted to shoot it. He got it when he came home from Korea, about 1954. It is my favorite .22 rifle. Enjoy yours, they are great guns.

Oh, nice! Does it shoot .22 shorts? ____________________

Aint that just a sweet heart? Reminds me of the gallery guns. Very nice.

Yes, but it's not one of the "gallery guns" that only shot shorts and had the pointed loading port. It's a regular 62 set up for Short, Long or Long Rifle. I, personally, have only run .22LR through it, so I cannot speak to its reliability running anything but LR but never misses a beat with ANY .22LR I've run from good stuff to out and out crap. I own two of the Taurus 62A clones. One is like brand new as I rarely fired it, and the other is "well broken in". They are great plinkers and will shoot most any ammo.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Rossi also make/sell a 62A clone??

They did indeed! Rossi made the 62 SA (20" barrel) and the 62 SAC (16 1/2" barrel). I have a 62 SAC and it's a great little gun that happily eats anything I feed it. I also have a Remington 121 Fieldmaster. There's just something so fun about these slide action .22s. I love them!

I have one of those! Bought it at River City Gun Exchange in Sacramento years ago. I'm sure the barrel is pretty well shot out, as I assume it was indeed a gallery gun. I believe I've never shot it; nor have I borescoped it. I am fond of anything designed by JM Browning. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

Has anyone ever actually shot out a 22 barrel?
