I bought a used AR 15 but now realize that it is missing the hand guard cap. The hand guard that is on it is being held on at the bottom only. How would I go about putting one on the gun?
I am happy with the gun but would like to correct this issue.

There are a number of choices, such as the Troy Delta, Daniel Defense Omega, and various Midwest Industries models, to name a few.
Another good choice is a carbine or midlength cutout rail by Centurion Arms

No on the already installed free float hand guard. Its a magpul and has the bumps that are supposed to go into the cap. Oh, and it's a bit wobbly up front, nothing crazy.
I had no idea they made free floating hand guards that would work with original equipment. That's defiantly a rout to look.

I have a Troy Delta VTAC on one of my ARs, and I like it a lot. (On this photo of mine, you can see the front handguard cap just behind the front sight base, but it doesn't actually contact the handguard, and isn't necessary.)
