Marlin dropped a 10mm version of the 1894 Trapper. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time….already tried to get one ordered and waiting to hear back.
I’ve got the same gun in .38/.357. It is a little gem. I know from a ballistic sense owning a 10mm version of the same gun doesn’t make sense but I don’t care. I want a 10mm companion to my Dan Wesson V-Bob. I expect real world price to be closer to $1,200 to $1,300, which still isn’t chump change, but it’s worth it to me.
Unfortunately, it is not compatible with .40 S&W.

If they can do it in 10mm I'd think they could also do it in 9mm...which would be an awesome plinker. I just discovered the other day that Taylors makes an 1873 clone in 9mm. But it's $2000 .

Does anyone have experience? Good or bad doing so?
No experience with revolvers but plenty of 40 through my Glock 20 with no issues.

I would say probably not. .357 lever actions can shoot .38 but feeding sometimes is an issue with the shorter cartridge but they both headspace on the rim. 10mm spaces on the mouth of the case. I know individuals have fired .40 S&W in 10mm auto pistols so it might be possible, but you’re basically relying on the extractor to hold the case in place.

Kind of scratching my head on this one. Love lever actions, but the same sized gun can handle the .44 Magnum which has a lot more power especially with the longer barrel. There’s already quite a few semi auto 10mm carbines on the market. So for me this is more of a novelty than a practical rifle. But then again, I have some stuff like 10mm revolvers that people might say similar things about.

Same here regarding the large loop lever. IMO, a straight lever is the way to go, especially with these handy little short barreled carbines. The 10MM chambering in the 1894 Trapper is a wonderful idea.

Could be looking for a way into markets with restrictive laws, like here in Washington. We're now severely limited when it comes to centerfire semi-auto rifles.

I’ve wanted this for a while. I have a lot of 357Mag in revolving and levering stuff. I’m also a fan of 10mm. I think this will pair nicely with one of my 10mm 1911s. Or….I might just have to add a 10mm GP100 to the collection.

Lever action rifles are not semi auto. This has nothing to do with Washingtons stupid gun laws, and everything to do with fol;ks wanting a 10mm lever gun. Not sure who, but good for Marlin / Ruger for building it for them.

Probably a pretty ideal short range low recoil whitetail rig. Cartridge isn't real long so the tubular mag will hold quite a few for home defense use. It's 1.290" vs 1.59" for 357 Mag, so if action is perfectly sized for it, it'll need a slight shorter stroke. But will likely have same stroke as 357.
