Thought you might all like to see this old rifle. The first owner was a very fine county level shooter who was suspicious of the way the the sling swivel fixing doubled up as the forend fixing bolt - straight into the 1" diameter barrel. He though that it might bend. Hmmmm... Still, he made his own stock, after going to night school to learn about ergonomics. Fifty-years later, it still put five bullets into around 1/4" at 50m. The scope is one of two, a x16 and x18, that I got from the USA. Made by Tasco, it was designed for centre-fire target and is a bit of overkill on a .22, so the recoil set-up is locked up.

Hi, there. the scope comes from the late-60s/early 70's, and was made to compete with the US-made Bausch & Lomb, Fecker and Redfield scopes of the same design - also, of course Unertl. I have a 1952 x18 Unertl Super Target with calibrated head on another BSA like this one, except that it's a true left-hand action and stock version. That shoots the same teeny holes....

Used to see BSA Martinis for sale at gunshows , from time to time, never had the disposable income anytime I saw one. Most of the time they were .22 LR, I think they came from Australia.

You would definitely have liked the chance at this one - it cost me the equivalent of $90 - it was thought so ugly that nobody was in the least bit interested in it. I sold the case it came in for £100. Still got the original P-H No5A diopter sights for it though.

Ninety dollars! Wow, were you wearing a disguise when you perpetrated this act of larceny? I never saw one for that price, wish I had, I would’ve jumped on it.
