Soft rifle case taller than 12"
It seems all soft tactical style rifle cases are only 12" tall. ex. 36x12

This makes it problematic to hold an AR with a LPVO and a 30 round mag. I have searched and cannot find any bags which are taller. A hard case is out of the question and the mag must stay inserted. The case needs to be 36" long. Anything longer would be a waste.

Does such a case exist?

Thought my Drago was bigger than it is. Internal dim is 42x12

Definitely fits my AR with the Vortex Strikefire II much better than my 2 hard cases.

With a 20rd mag, it'd be tight, but sans mag, I have plenty of room.

Not seeing a big reason to transport a rifle with mag already attached. Confused

Elite Survival Systems makes a 13" tall case they call their 'Covert Operations Discrete Rifle Case'. It's available in six different lengths and comes with shingle style Mag Pouch that holds three Mags in your choice of five different calibers. There's an internal padded flap that separates the firearm from the magazines and a sizeable zippered external pocket as well. It's constructed of 1000 denier nylon and has excellent quality YKK zippers.

The 13" dimension is their specified internal dimension and it's accurate, though the case would probably stretch to 14" and still zip closed just fine.

I have the 26" & 22" length cases, which I use to transport my 5.56 SBR's to the range (Just one at a time!) and a B&T PCC (Now also an SBR per the ATF!) respectively. It's extremely high quality IMO and I highly recommend it!

Here's a link to the 36" version --> https://elitesurvival.com/coll...riant=39362933817512

this,

I have the original(s) Assault System bags from the 80's ( they changed names to Shooting Systems, because Assault was a bad word, and now are owned by Elite)
fantastic carry bags or cases and durable

I have one I used to transport my Service rifle for a dozen years, and it was probably that old when I got it, and it is still in great shape,

I converted my Irons gun to scoped and it still fits fine,

I have one for a scoped M14 as well as a No 4 T and no as in 0 issues at all,

I'll measure this when I get home. Not exactly sure on the height. I know it's a 36" case. Absolutely love this case. Best bargain I've found in a while.

Fits my AR10 with LPVO and 20 round mag and still has a little bit of room to spare.

^ Looks very similar to my Drago bag
Holds 2 rifles & has pouches everywhere. Last I used it, had 1 rifle & a half dozen mags, worked great.

20 round mags are not an issue. It’s the 30 rounders which keep the case from zipping

I'm assuming when you said AR, you were referring to AR15. Also a little difference than an AR10.

I use a soft guitar case for mine. Works perfect with mags in.

A 61 key keyboard case appears to be about the size you want. Like this one on Amazon that is 38" x 16" by 6":

I like the outside the box thinking with the guitar and keyboard case.

I was able find this DDT rifle case which is 14" tall.

Wilson Combat has an assortment of soft bags just for this.

Yes, they do exist. I have a couple older Eagle rifle bags that are at least 13" tall (and a bit more with the bag's flexibiltiy) and accommodate an AR with an optic and a 30 round magazine.

While Eagle no longer makes rifles bags, a quick Google shows there are others 36x13 bags still out there, such as the previously mentioned Elite Survival Systems bags, or this Primary Arms bag:

Another trick to try on a soft case is to store the rifle upside down and/or diagonally within the case. This can help it fit, since the bag has some flex, but can more easily stretch over small protruding areas like a muzzle or the corner of a magazine or stock, compared to a wider protrusion like the entire length of a LVPO.

Be sure to confirm the internal dimensions as well.

Savior Equipment Bags are quite nice and priced well too.

Also on Amazon as well.
