Ok, here’s what it has. Timney trigger 667S, CMMG 22LR conversion. Anderson lower, PSA upper. Getting a lot of FTF’s. Originally put this gun together with a CMMG Mil-Spec trigger with no problems. Originally until the bolt kit wore in I had some FTE but not FTF’s, once I had a couple hundred rounds through it that problem went away. Decided to try the Timney, the 3# was an attraction. First night I installed it, for the first hundred or so rounds it was flawless but had to cut the night short as when I installed the trigger I didn’t tighten the set screws enough that put pressure on the pins via contact with the lower receiver. So I got home, tightened them and went to the range with the same ammunition I previously used, Winchester 333 in 36 grain with no problem. Went to the range and started with the FTF’s. Left for the day and went back tonight after cleaning and lubricating, same problem. Changed to Blazer Brass, same thing. So, I’m thinking that I’m not getting enough force from the trigger to “hammer” the firing pin into that cartridge. Inspected the firing pin after actuations it with my finger, moves easily enough, no burrs or mechanical damage that I can detect either, so I’m ruling thr bolt out as the problem. I’m on the fence here. I’m going to call Timney on Monday but also thinking of reinstalling the CMMG trigger tomorrow to test my theory. It just doesn’t make any sense to me how it could be fine early in that session when the trigger loosened up, all I did was tighten it again, didn’t even take it out of the lower, just removed the safety control, tightened it up and that was it. So opinions welcome. Where do I go from here? This message has been edited. When you say CMMG conversation, assume you mean the one that replaces the BCG? If so I’d tell you to really check around the throat where the rim of the cartridge sits for buildup. You said you cleaned and lubed it, so I assume it’s clean, but just double check. That said it sounds to me like tightening the tension screw meant to keep the upper/lower tight might have messed with the geometry of how the trigger hits the firing pin. Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view. Complacency sucks…

I’d loosen the screw back and try it.

Update: No change, still light strikes. Called Timney C/S this morning. Bert was very helpful as I explained the story and what I had done. He is shipping an AR10 hammer and hammer spring, he was surprised that initially there were no FTF’s,,he said it it happens it is right out of the box but he is pretty confident that this will fix the problem. The only change to the trigger is that this modification will add about a half pound to the pull, 3.5# vs. 3#. Truth be known, I’ll probably not feel that difference anyhow. Also, he said if I have any problems installing it or further problems to call them and at that point they will have me send in the trigger for them to examine and work on it. Thank you for your responses. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A.
