The whole movie and all its comtemporaries would not work if it was a Kuna. And that's the point of owning an SP5 or if your budget is big enough a real MP5.

That's precisely why I have a totally stock, unmolested early 92FS, and why it will stay that way. Well... except for the Langdon trigger parts, because those at least look stock.

Regardless, and more to the point of what you'd want the gun for, I'm not going to take it to any USPSA or Steel Challenge matches. I'm sure I could and do just fine, but these days, I've got stuff that's at least marginally more suited to the task.

Somewhat back on topic, I have the parts I need to convert my Stribog to a dual recoil spring damper and rubber buffer setup that integrates the modified HBI short stroke buffer. Need to clean out the suppressor squeezings and prep all that tonight. The local national forest just went into fire restrictions for the summer, so I'm relegated to testing stuff at my local range, which I'm hopeful to get out to this weekend. There's also a couple indoor ranges nearby, I may call around and see if by chance, any of them have a Kuna I can rent. Doubtful, but hey. If I get a chance to compare a stock Kuna to an SP9A3 tweaked to the last degree, I'll follow up with my thoughts.

That didn’t take long.

A lower that uses Scorpion mags I guess?
Needs to be pretty cheap to be worth the cost since the Kuna mags are pretty cheap.

Are there other benefits?

Just looked their Stribog Scorpion Lower is $340. You can buy 13 Kuna mags for the cost.

Actually, it's $315 unless you add the HBI buffer. With the Stribog, it gives you access to AR triggers and grips, which is a big deal on that platform (and also omits the weak factory bolt hold open system in favor of the B&T style bolt catch) but I think those things come natively with the Kuna, so it isn't an improvement in that regard. However, for the $25 that Kuna mags cost being nice and cheap, that doesn't touch Scorpion magazine prices and availability.

Let's break it down a bit.

Kuna - $25 for 30 rounds.
Scorpion OEM - $32 for 30.

Ok, it wins there. However, OEM mags aren't generally the pick, these are:

Magpul 35rd - $17-18
Palmetto AKV 35rd - $11-17 (If you watch their sales, you can stock up on a ton for silly cheap)
ETS 30rd - $20
ETS 40rd - $15 in translucent or $23 in clear
Magpul D50 - $100

The ETS mags have an iffy reputation for Glocks and AR's, but their Scorpion mags seem to run well for people. I've been meaning to try some out, in fact. That's not even getting into all the extended baseplates, nor all the 3D print files floating around out there for Scorpion magazines. You can buy magazine springs for $5 a pop and print every other piece and be into reliable, working magazines for under $10 apiece.

The point is, the Scorpion has been on the market for a decade at this point and a lot of people have a sizeable stockpile of these magazines, so it might be worth it to just have another gun feed from the same pool of magazines. If you don't have a bunch of Scorpion mags, is it worth it? I guess it'll depend on what the Lingle lower costs, but it won't have to be crazy cheap for the math to work out, and it gives you access to a more developed aftermarket and anywhere from five, ten, or twenty more rounds of ammo per magazine if that matters to you.

It's on my radar to replace my trusty Scorpion. Will definitely be in the market for a Lingle or Haga lower that takes Scorpion mags as I have a ton of them. Even if it doesn't save me any money I'd still do it out of convenience. Throw a Holosun AEMS or similar on there with an A3 folding brace and I'm in business.

Tits. Roller delay is so money. Truth be told 85% of the reason I bough it over another PCC was because I wanted an MP5 (call it what you want). A friend of mine has a B&T which it way more refined, but I didn't want refined.

It'll end up being a 2 tax stamp gun in no time.

Is that a Rugged can? How the heck do you get that thing off after some shooting? A special wrench on the muzzle?

Still, sharp setup.

If I were a betting man, I’d say it’s a tri lug and there’s just enough exposed there to push it back and give it a twist. Also enough to grab with a strap wrench to pull it free if it’s really fouled and doesn’t wanna just pop right off. That’s what I would do, anyway.

It is. It's on a 3 lug mount. Push in slightly and rotate. Comes right off.

It's a 9mm radial delay CMMG using endomags.

That's a badass setup, I like that. I have a friend who has one done very similarly with a CMMG radial delay setup, Endomags, nested Hux Rad 45 on a tri lug. Really sweet shooting little PCC.
