I was at my LGS earlier today paying for the shipping of a few pistols I've sold when I eyed this rifle sitting on the used rifle rack.
I asked to see it and looked it over pretty good. Looked at the price tag and it said $275. Well, had to jump on it because it didn't look to be shot much at all. With a bore light they had handy, it's clean and I didn't see any signs of abuse.
Good 22 caliber AR? Have shot the big brother version and it was fine for an AR. Also, what optic should I look at getting? This would be mainly for just plinking and maybe groundhog control.

Great rifle. The tacticool mall cops will complain about it being plastic and as such not mimicking closely enough the weight of a real rifle. Whatever. For your intended purpose and most folks that buy one it'll be fine. I've had mine for about 5-6 years and have never had an issue. Great gun for kids and adults alike.

As for optics I'd look for a decent red dot that won't break the bank. I've been using a Primary Arms Comp M4 clone with great success for most of its life.

They run and run. I bought one for the wife to use at fun shoot plate matches. We firedd a bunch of ammo through it and worked great. I put a Volquartsen extractor in it just because and it might help when the gun gets dirty. It's simple and easy to use for a beginner, better than my 10/22, and the light weight is in its favor for our use. Lots of folks have them at the club and like them. I bought a Steiner PX4i to try for it as my wife has issues with the red dots dot.

I'll be buying one.

I have had one for many years,

I did swap out the trigger, it takes regular AR triggers, since I did not like the pull,

I also have a Primary Arms reddot on my gun,
very accurate, and a hoot to shoot

Bought one for my stepson several years ago. They're a hoot. We have yet to have any problems, with a couple thousand rounds through it. We both like it the best out of all our .22s.

Ours has a set of MBUS sights and a Primary Arms micro red dot.

A friend at the LGS said they have some Vortex red dots at some decent prices so I'll probably be there at 9am tomorrow and see what they have.

They are fun guns. I tend to take mine to the range more than my 10/22's these days. I also changed out the trigger.

She's a winner. Picked up a Vortex prism DRT optic this morning and sighted it in at 25 yards. Had fun doing that and then got out the steel swinger and set that up at about 48 yards. Hit it quite regularly seeing as there's no magnification on the optic.
Been a long time since I've shot a 22 rifle and I forgot how enjoyable it is to just sit down and plink at targets. Good practice also for when I get the 243 rifle out and go out a few hundred yards. Concentrated on breathing and trigger press. I know it's different because the 243 has more recoil but fundamentals are fundamentals.

I have one that I took to an Appleseed Project course. It performed flawlessly. At the time, it was the only AR-15 in 22lr that actually operated like a real AR15.

They are a blast as everyone has already said. I've had mine for a few years and it goes to the range quite often.

Wasn't aware the triggers were the same as all the other ARs, will have to swap it out. While it is not horrible, some improvement wouldn't hurt.

44mag was all to happy to be charging $50 a mag for these a couple years ago...

A friend has one and it is accurate and reliable. I don't think that I have ever seen it malfunction or jam.

Everytime we shoot I keep telling myself that I need to get one.

Same experience, and even the same sights/optics.

I like it so much, I outfitted it with a forearm that cost as much as the gun (KAC URX III).

I wish they would make a pistol version so I could shoot it while waiting for tax stamp.

They used to, but agree would like to see a new one with the M-Lok rail.
