Didn’t have much to do this morning and I really want to ability to have a forward sling mount. I know I can buy one, but it’s just not something I wish to do right now.

Looking in the safe I see an old stock with a sling mount. Off with the m-log hand guard, and a few minutes later I had a screw set from the inside. A little locktite blue in hopes it doesn’t wiggle loose.

It seems to function just as I hoped it would. Switch to the forward point and I can get a very sturdy hold on the rifle.

I also see in the photos, I need to move my flashlight back to the forward position, and lock the quick disconnect.

Pretty happy with it, for Free-99.

Is there anything to stop it from unscrewing itself? What am I missing?

To stop it from unscrewing itself, some blue loctite, lots of torque, hopes, and dreams.

At some point I’ll spend the $$$ for an M-Lok mount.

Like this one? It would work well with your hook attachment and be a bit lower profile.

https://magpul.com/m-lok-paraclip-sling-mount.html

I use this mount for the hooks and MLOK. It is the smallest of this type I’ve found.

It’s https://toughtacticaltools.com...r-paracod-loop-sling

Props on being crafty, BTW. Wink Why not just put a nut on it? I see that mount twisting soon, since it doesn’t slot into the MLOM slot.

FEV, yes, the para clip is exactly what I need. It’s just not something that I can pick up at this time. (A whole lot metric fuck ton going on right now that I can’t discuss).

Thanks for recognizing my craftiness. That’s like the best compliment ever to me.

I haven’t put a nut on it, because I definitely have one. Amongst 50 lbs of other random unassorted nuts and bolts all under 3/8”. So not totally unassorted, but it’s two full toolboxes that’s about a cubic foot.

Thanks, I know what I’m doing this afternoon and into the evening. lol.

Check your email.

I'm digging the Mossberg lower, BTW. It weirds me out to see that logo on an AR, but in a good way. Smile

Replied.

I’m pleasantly surprised by how well it shoots. First time out I was at 140 or 160 yards with irons sights and ringing a small steel plate. This was prior to a LaRue trigger. The stock trigger was shitty. It’s incredibly better with the LaRue trigger.
I’m excited to post up some pics when I make it out to the range, hopefully tomorrow if this dastardly storm goes away.

FEV, thank you. Smile

Due to an instant karma from FEV, I have a kick ass para-clip on my rifle. The DIY was okay, but it was a matter of time before it came loose. This one will not come loose.

Thanks FEV! This made my day!
