7ironQuery re Colt HBAR
Friends,
A friend on mine passed away last month. His widow asked me to look over a few firearms he had tucked away non his closet. (Never knew he had these, as we had only shot pistols on rare occasion). One is a Colt AR with the solid non-removable handle and the solid butt stock. The roll mark reads " MATCH TARGET. Match HBAR Cal 223". Ser is CMH010316. Ballpark age is 30 years and the rifle looks perfect. I don't play in the AR sandbox, but I might start. What am I looking at here? What is the approximate value if I wanted to make her a fair and honest offer? Assuming it would be the same amount I would seek if she asked me to sell it for her.
Sorry about the lack of pictures.
Than you.

kimberkidThat's an early post ban rifle ... should have a non-threaded barrel without a flash hider or bayo lug and Colts unique trigger block so yo you can't install a sear or lightening link.
I' think the value would be $800 - $1,000 ... if you can find the original Blue Label box, owners manual, mag & cleaning kit ... and its all in mint or near mint condition she might be able to get $2,000 from a collector.

7ironKimberkid -- you are spot on regarding the barrel and lack of a lug. Thank you for the information.

sold a couple just a bit higher than that in the past few years, (~$1200)
current GB completed auction show in the ball park you quoted,
box paperwork etc would bring a small bit extra
