Not to burst anyones bubble, but I've found the Scorpion to be meh.

Have mine SBRed and it just doesn't stack up that well to the MP5 platform.

Much prefer my MP5 clones to shoot.

Snappy recoil for a 9mm with that heavy BCG sliding back and forth in the light polymer receiver.

Even my 9mm AR feels like it has a less recoil impulse.

I recommend shooting before buying for sure!

(Would not sell my ARs for a Scorpion...)

I have an HK SP5, and yes, it is an excellent firearm, but it doesn't take away from my Scorpion, it is still very fun gun to shoot.

I don't think you'll find a ton of people claiming the Scorpion is a better gun than an MP5. I think it does a few things differently/better, but the allure, at least for me, was the price and aftermarket support. I think the Scorpion needs a lot of upgrading at first, but it's relatively cheap compared to an MP5 or even an MPX.

I think out of the box, the triggers on both the Scorpion and SP5 are shit. I don't know how much the fix is for the HK, but the Scorpion was a $8 fix. Mags are cheap and most accessories are cheap. It'll never scratch the itch of the MP5 for me, but it's filling a deliberate role for me and it didn't break the bank.

The recoil is stiff. Big Grin

I agree, but you can nearly buy 3 Scorpions for 1 MP5 clone

I was bored with my MP5 clone, until I got a registered sear, now we rock & roll ... beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

--- Next ---

Just wait until you put a binary trigger on that Scorpion ... Yehaa!

If you really want something you'll find a way ...

But sometimes with prices that match. IN any case the point of this is maybe to go shoot a few of the other alternatives and see what you like/don't like. In the end I think an AR9 is the most basic first thing to have as its so completely fungible to what you want.
I agree. They are a ton of fun to shoot but this is a super competitive field with tons of great choices. I am super picky about triggers and I'm not a fan of the stock Scorpions. This can be fixed though.

I must be the exception to this rule. I shot my neighbors MP5SD and MP5K clones last weekend and I'd take a 9mm AR all day every day over either one.

My Omega 9 sounds like a pellet rifle with subsonic ammo. Hitting the target is louder than the Scorpion's report with subsonic ammo. Order a trip-lug while you are waiting. It's the way to go for mounting.......

Already have one. Can't recall the place I bought it, but that's a "flash can" on a 5.something" triple lugged barrel. Big Grin

Is this a micro with a longer rail?

Which base model is this one? I can’t find one with the longer rail on CZ website.

EVO 3 S1 pistol. The handguard is aftermarket, HBI 6.8" flat. Original barrel is 7" if I recall. I wanted a can for it, and still keep it shortish. Got a 3-lug 5.3" "Micro-K" barrel from In Lead We Trust.

LOL Magpul.

It's actually the back part of their hand stop kit. I think it looks better and it definitely keeps my hand from sliding forward.
