Gents, Posting a few pics of my M25 DMR that TonyBen built for me about a year ago. I cherish this rifle and as you can see it's a tack driver. The intent was to build an M-14 style DMR in the USMC mold. This turned out very well, as you can see, but does not have the disadvantage of having to use an after market scope mount (LRB M25's are integral). This makes it an upgrade of sorts and the proof is in the shooting. Enjoy the pics and post pics of your DMR's and groups. Thanks, Wes

SWEET!! Very nice firearm there, but then, all of your M1A/M14 builds are. ___________________________________________ Life Member NRA & Washington Arms Collectors Mistake not my current state of joshing gentle peevishness for the awesome and terrible majesty of the towering seas of ire that are themselves the milquetoast shallows fringing my vast oceans of wrath. Yeah, that M14 video guy... |
Was that my fifth build for you? 1. M25 with the 3/4 heavy 5r and the kevlar stock 2. M25 with the light medium 5r 3. XM21/SAGE 4. M14 double lug McMillan M3A 5. M25 DMR Number 6 should be here in December. Sadly, I'm not his exclusive builder. Ted Brown built one and I think shorty was from a guy in Anaheim. Tony. Tony, You actually built the 'SUPER STOCKER'. Ted just bedded it and did a trigger job. You get at least half the credit for a fine shootin' M-14! Can't wait until December and we start on #6,,, Wes

Very nice rifle and group! What was the target distance? ____________________

Although I wasn't there, I am quite certain it was at 100 yards. I've been to his range a few times and in the picture you have two targets at 25 yards for the far right benches, then two targets at 50 yards for the next benches over. Then finally to the left of those two, and out of frame, the next distance is 100 yards and I think there are four or five large target backers at that distance. In the upper left corner of his image is a 200 yard target which you can shoot from any bench position. Tony. Tony and all, Shot the DMR again on 8-12-23. Conditions were hot with bad mirage. We were shooting at 100 yards on the range you know well, Tony... This group is a consistent showing of what the rifle is capable of...me not so much. All groups are consistently 1 MOA or under with the DMR. Looks like I need to bring here about two clicks up and two clicks of left windage to center perfectly. More in depth report next trip. Load was a 175 gr. Lapua Scenar-L over 41.7 gr. IMR-4064, a IMI Match case, and a Federal 210M primer. OAL: 2.83" Wes

Ran across an old pic of Wes at his range shooting a M1. You can see the range setup better here. It's a nice range and very quiet. Usually has the place all to himself. Tony. Owner, TonyBen, LLC, Type-07 FFL www.tonybenm14.com (Site under construction). e-mail: tonyben@tonybenm14.com

That is a nice rifle! As a M1 Garand guy, I really admire the M14 platform, especially one crafted as well as yours.
