Ruger/Marlin really needs to bring back the model 60.
What are my other current options? I buy nearly every used model 60 I run into. Especially the little Glenfield Squirrel models. But man they are starting to demand some wild prices.
Plenty on gun broker but at $30-$50 a pop for shipping is rough. So looking for current production I can hopefully have the local shop order for me.

My first firearm, and I got it secondhand. Still going strong decades later, though it did need a new buffer about 15 years ago. And I put a set of Tech Sights on it around the same time, which is a nice improvement over the stock iron sights.

The Browning SA-22. It's feed from the stock but the principle is the same.

Hickok45 got me hooked on the model 60. I found a couple 22" barrels (Heavy micro-groove) with last shot hold open. Also grabbed a 981t when I saw it. Found a squirrel for like $75 but needed bolt-safety work, back when parts were cheap on ebay/Numrich for buffers etc.. Yep, not many tube-feds left that I can think of. The bolt 925 and a Duck's Unlimited Papoose are also in the stable. Very accurate. Fun to work on.

Not current production, but the Remington 552 jumps to mind. Looking on GB, there are quite a few around the $400 mark - some with scopes included.

That was *my* first gun. That shell deflector helped for my left handed long gun shooting. Some stupid kid, (me) decided to trade it in on a 12 gauge pump. DUMB!

I have a late 50’s Belgian SA-22 with the wheel style sight. Fun little rifle
I know you said semi auto but check out the Winchester 72a. Tube fed bolt gun and it’s a No serial # which even for Winchester is interesting

buy 3 each of the Springfield/Stevens (80 somethings, cannot remember the number) , or the 550's, or the SA-22's,

To go with the Browning SA-22 I linked to above, and if you have changed your mind and want to look at something out of production, the Browning BAR-22, is an interesting option.

I had a SA-22 myself for a time. A very cool little rifle. One thing to watch for is the placement of your support arm. The straight-downward ejection will bounce cases off your forearm, leaving "pecker tracks" at best, burns at worst.

I've always loved the looks of the Browning-branded SA-22. Recently looked at a couple of used ones. I think the older models are worth more.

The SA-22 is my second favorite of the tube fed autos behind the Weatherby Mark XXII...I even had a PRC version which shot very well.
The Browning BAR-22 was a nice rifle which I wish I'd kept along with the Remington Speedmaster.
In current production, you're going to be pretty limited. Interestingly I've recently seen several Remington Nylon 66 on the used market
