Not trying to be Joe Commando, but how do users store their mags? “You may beat me, but you will never win.” sigmonkey-2020 “ in my opinion, anything that we can do to trigger a potential aneurysm in a leftist is a good thing and worth doing” nhtagmember 2025

usually mags are empty till I get to the range, ammo and mags in a can or soft case, I have used the GI carriers on my Shooting Stool, on the rare instances I shot a M14 in a match, now, they are just laying next to me when I am shooting, https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

Mine's just a range toy. I don't use it for serious purposes. But I do have some belt pouches that can accept both 5.56 and 7.62 mags, if I wanted to.

When I used a Scout for work purposes many years ago, I had a leg pouch that carried just right below my gear belt for two extra magazines. It was a sign of the times. I suppose now, if I had to do anything belt wise, it'd be an HSGI Taco or similar for maybe one extra magazine. I stopped carrying rifle mags on my belt a good while ago though. If I was actually carrying any .30cal mag fed rifle nowadays for work, I'd likely use my Haley Strategic Heavy Chest Rig. It's fairly slim, carries three large rifle mags and a few other little things in an attempt to not get too heavily weighted down.

Mine are on the bench with the rifle. It’s too heavy to carry anyway, and my variant wasn’t really intended to be focused on mobility, so I don’t have much reason to carry the mags. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. I run a chest rig, Rhody style. Hangs over my passenger seat. That is how I carry every .308 in my truck. One nearby and 5 in the rig. Fal, M14 and AR10!
