So I have a lot of lowers sitting around and want to start piecing together some uppers.

What's the best place to buy upper receivers, not complete uppers, just the receivers?

I'm in Indiana and tried to build an "all Indiana" rifle - ended up picking up an upper from BCI Defense. It's pretty solid and built like a tank.

Might also check PSA or Aim Surplus as well if you're price conscious.

From anywhere in particular? Or straight from the source?

^ This, I bought 5-6 a couple years back and what I assume they call scratches I would call rub marks, no other problems.

I have bought several Anderson manufacturering upper receivers from Primary Arms at a good price.

I have used both upper and lower receivers produced by Anderson manufacturering. I have never had a problem with any of them.

My SBR is built with an Anderson manufacturering lower receiver.

The last Anderson manufacturering upper that I got from Primary Arms, with port door cover and forward assist was like $49.00, a very good price.

Heres what I got so far...

Upper - 59.99
Gas tube - 7.99
Gas Block - 4.99
Barrel - Trade
ALG Rail - 80.00
Other parts - I had

Now I'll add a PSA BCG when they hit $79 again and I'll have a complete 16"mid length the way I want it for $380 or so.

I have two, neither of which fits exactly on my lowers. They seem like the pin holes may be out of spec or misaligned. Also took more spacers to get my barrel nut lined up, but I used them for 9mm builds.

A Perpetual Disappointment...

Interesting. What losers? I used Anderson lowers. Getting ready to swap one to a Meridian Ordinance dedicated Colt pattern lower.
I used mine for 9mm builds too.
I used the uppers without FA.
