Slippery Pete107CR - Miller Lite zero
Finally getting around to getting my 107CR where I want it. Want to get an SLR rail for the bottom. I'm thinking parkerize or some other finish eventually cause this sucker has a hard life in Oregon with no heat. Rust resistance being the main purpose. Feedback welcome on what route to take with that.
I planned to swap the TRS25 with an H2, but I stripped the mounting screw so decided it's staying on there. Not the first time I've been down that road.
So I measured out 62 Pete feet, which I calculated to be about 20 yards and wasn't happy until I put 2 in the middle orange. After that I spent some time terminating rocks with extreme prejudice further out to get an idea for holds etc. Very happy with this rifle.
Here's the day it came back from front end work. Took me years to make a decision but ended up cutting the threads off and cutting the barrel and pinning a PWS on.

RichardCNice rig, 107CR. Glad you're enjoying it.
Now, shake up an unopened Miller Lite, video shooting it and post.

Slippery PeteNot a bad idea. Won't be back up there for a while though. No AKs allowed in Communist Cal.

abnmacvNice unit and keeping it as rust free as possible makes sense in a rainy climate like the Northwest.

bigpond73Nice rifle and nice shooting Pete, as always
.
I had my AK finished in black moly. Wipe it down and it's clean. Has held up here in CO, but our climate is relatively dry in the high plains. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Slippery PeteThanks Mike - Black Moly huh. I'll take a look.
After the threads were cut I didn't have anything applied to the barrel because I assumed I was going to Ceracoat it with whatever in addition to the fact Arsenal finishes can be lacking.
But I heard Jim Fuller say he likes to Park his guns for a variety of reasons and it struck me as a good move for more of the rugged side of things. I'm not 100% sure though.
