Been waiting years for the LaRue Siete that was set to be a 10” .308 barrel and 20” 6.5 Creedmoor combo gun for $1500.

What is actually being put to market is 23” 6.5 Creedmoor and a second barrel in your choice of .308, .260 Remington, 22-250, or .243 Winchester for nearly double the price of what we were initially introduced to.
Seems to incorporate their rail/handguard system unlike the initial concept which is likely where the added cost comes in along with the 2nd rifle length barrel.

I was super excited for the 10” configuration. I wonder if they ditched the initial idea because of the soon to be new pistol brace rules.

Now, I am not super excited. I have been holding off on getting another bolt gun in anticipation of this.

The Siete in its current configuration is interesting. The ease of switching barrels is impressive. Given LaRue's history, I suspect accuracy will be good enough for the vast majority of shooters.

I think it's short sighted for Larue to offer 6.5 Creedmoor and 250 Remy barrels, but to only offer 243 Win and not 6 Creedmoor. For precision shooters, the Creedmoor chambering are significantly better in handling modern high-BC bullets.

I get why LaRue dropped the 10" barrels. They make no sense for cartridges with the case capacity of a 308.

If I didn't have my current Defiance-based bolt action rifles, the Siete would be worth comparing to other manufacturer's options.

Spoke with the fine folks at LaRue yesterday. The original idea we were introduced to will not be happening. Just how it is on the website currently.

I am super bummed about that. Was wanting a reasonably priced .308 or maybe 6.5 chassis gun.
Mostly used to 300 and 500 yards.
I guess I’ll be seeing what else is out there.
