Had a great day at the VS match today! The LRB M14 with the Lothar Walther ICR barrel performed superbly!

Killed it at 300 with the 155 ELD-M's! 100-5X!

Dropped 3 points at 600 using 175 SMK's. Only pulled off 2 X's. 97-2X.

My 14 year old son gained about 20 points versus the October match.
He's progressing well! Way better than his last time!

My rifle shot double-duty today and we shared the rifle, so between scoring and sighters, it had about 50 rounds down the tube today. Plus the 10 I shot yesterday morning to confirm zero after re-bedding. No other team shared a rifle.

We placed 7th as a team out of 12 teams. Last time we placed last. I give it 2 more matches before we're placing silver and gold.
We were team TNT.

Only one score had more X's than me at 300 and he was shooting a M40. Only 3 shooters beat my score at 600 and all with M40's or M70's.

A great day!

Tony.

“ Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one’s own understanding without another’s guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one’s own mind without another’s guidance.”

There are different categories. Lots of different rifles can show up. There was a M1C and a M1D on the line today as well as Swedish Mausers. Older rifles compete in category A while the later models are in category B (M14, M40, M70). There were at least 3 more M14/M1A's on the line. Maybe four.

I think you got ripped on your 600 yard target. I count 5 X’s.

Love these builds Tony. I’d love to ask you to build one one day. What scope is that you are using on this one?

Thanks! It's a Trijicon Huron 3-9x40. Excellent scope!

Great shooting, Tony, and awesome that you're getting to do it with your son! You do know that's going to end up costing you money, right? Because sooner or later he's going to want his own rifle, set up for him Wink.
