I am sure many of the folks in this discussion are far more knowledgeable than I, when it comes to these rifles, and likely have plenty of excellent reference material. For those who may be curious, there is a book called The War Business, by George Thayer, published in 1969. Better than 25% of the book details the career of Samuel Cummings; it is pretty fascinating. I didn't actually finish the book, as it got far less interesting, once the Cummings portion was complete. Also, I recommend the Vickers reference books. There are others out there too, by folks like Chris Bartocci, and other authors: America's Rifle, The Black Rifle, etc; I only have experience with the Vickers books though. I recommend getting the second editions, in the Vickers books, as they contain a lot more material, and it's not just fluff/filler. Thank you for posting pictures of these rifles.

Good suggestions, Wil. The best book I found about Sam Cummings is Deadly Business - Sam Cummings, Interams, & the Arms Trade by Patrick Brogan & Albert Zarka I highly recommend it. Mike

Portuguese and Sudanese pattern bayonets. Old, crappy pictures, but mine never the less. Sudanese. Patterned after the German experimental SG-42 bayonet. Portuguese. I took a chance and got this bayonet on a German selling site many years ago from a nice lady named Nicole from Hembrug, Zaandam, Holland. Zaandam happens to be the home of the old Artillerie-Inrichtengen factory which contracted to make the ArmaLite AR-10 rifles for the ArmaLite Division of Fairchild Aviation. She told me she was including a surprise with the bayonet. When it arrived and I opened the box I found two factory blueprints of said bayonet. One of the bayo, one of the scabbard. Those are crappy old pictures she provided. Notice the A.I. logo and stamping on the blade. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Malysh,
