Sudanese pattern AR-10 with Telko semi automatic receiver No. 00006
Portuguese pattern AR-10 with Sendra semi auto receiver No. 00001. This rifle's lower receiver was shown in my friend Joe Evans' book The ArmaLite AR-10, on page 349. The photo is attributed to the Charles Kramer collection. However, I've had this rifle for about 20 years, and the owner before me was not Mr. Kramer, either.

Fucking amazing. I wish they kept the charging handle there.

Besides the original AR-10, there have been a few others with similar charging handles, like the FAMAS:
And then there are a few others with somewhat similar folding charging handles housed in the carry handle/sight riser, such as the G36 and HS VHS (aka Springfield Hellion).

Because Sig Forum brought him and I together in real life over another rifle a couple summers ago and we were talking on the phone for an hour or three the other night after I got my Sendra Guatelmalan based on a tip from a friend who owned that S/N #0001 that Malysh posted before Malysh bought him from year many years back.
The AR-10 world is a small enough group, we look out for each other because they're so rare. I posted pics of mine and it sparked interest so Mike thought it would be good to add pics of his which are the other two pattern guns. Well, technically we still need someone to post a Cuban but not sure how many are still around...tiny number since only 50 or so were made and went to Fidel.

Interarmco/Sam Cummings filled an order of 100 Cuban pattern AR-10s to Batista in Nov. 1958. Payment wasn't tendered yet by New Years day 1959 when Castro overthrew Batista.
The rifles were obtained for Batista's palace guard.
Cummings visited Fidel, Raul, and Guevara shortly after the revolution to attempt collection on the unpaid AR-10s. He conducted another firing demonstration. Castro decided to pay for the 100 rifles he confiscated (Evans, The ArmaLite AR-10).
The Cuban model was the first Artillerie-Inrichtigen (A.I.) Dutch made AR-10 model. Aside from the thin exposed barrel, they are fundamentally the same as Dan's new Guatemalan or my Sudanese model except for the distinctive barrel shrouds the Guatemalan and Sudanese have. The Guatemalan barrel shroud has round perforations, the Sudanese barrel shroud has no perforations.
The Sudanese rear sight adjustment markings are in Arabic, and a round brass disk is attached to the left side of the butt stock denoting which Army of the Sudan infantry division it was issued to.
The Cubans are the rarest, excepting the first AR-10s made in Hollywood, CA.

This was tongue in cheek because one of those old members is me. I'm happy to see this rifles because I'm old school like that. The best collecting and pursuing of firearms always has a personal story. The '04 just struck me. Carry on.

The 00001 serial number is off the scale. Beautiful, exceptional rifle in any form. But the serial number puts it in the unequalled, “can’t get any better” class of its own. Thanks for sharing, I love seeing these rifles
