Assuming the stock is wood, Ol Pinky can be transitioned with a little sand paper and a rattle can of your favorite color.

A few years I did this with a hideous Marlin 60 I found at a gun show. The barrel had scuff marks and the stock had been sanded and stained PURPLE with a TCU Horned Frogs sticker on the butt stock. For $100, I brought it home and confirmed it functioned fine after cleaning and lubing. I left the barrel as-is but lightly sanded the stock and hit it with cheap flat black spray paint. The black stock looks good with the stainless, and I'm no longer afraid of being mistaken for a TCU fan at the range.
