Plowing straight ahead come what may |
Being a cheap ‘ol bastard I’m always looking for a deal…if I find something I want on Amazon I always look for the used/warehouse deals. As of late I have purchased an AERO 1” lightweight scope mount for $32 with prime (it came today and had no issues other than a box with a deep scratch on the top)…I used the mount for my Leupold fixed 2.5 power scope that was $209 Prime (almost $100 off the regular price)…as an aside…both were 100% and zeroed in perfectly today at the range … Don’t discount the “discounted” Amazon warehouse deals ******************************************************** "we've gotta roll with the punches, learn to play all of our hunches Making the best of what ever comes our way Forget that blind ambition and learn to trust your intuition Plowing straight ahead come what may And theres a cowboy in the jungle" Jimmy Buffet

I’m too nervous about Chinese counterfeits to buy any gun stuff on Amazon personally. I’ve been burned on fake magpul BUIS. --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

Fighting the good fight |
While there's certainly a huge risk of counterfeits, there are definitely deals to be had. I scored a brand new Aimpoint H1 off an Amazon Warehouse Deal several years ago for ~$300. I was fully prepared to return it if it turned out to be broken, or fake. But surprisingly enough, it was pristine, and genuine (confirmed by Aimpoint). Best I can figure, someone had ordered it without realizing that it was the H1 model that came without any mount, and then returned it since "the mount was missing". Amazon then turned around and sold it to me with an open box discount of ~50%, probably because Amazon believed the mount was missing too. But you have to understand that there's a common scam out there where people will order something off Amazon, swap the product for a counterfeit item, and then return it, keeping the genuine item for further resale while also being refunded their purchase price when Amazon gets the counterfeit return. The people inspecting the returns at the Amazon Warehouse often don't know enough about the products to spot fakes, especially the convincing fakes. So know that there's a large risk of receiving a counterfeit item if you buy stuff like watches, sunglasses, electronics, name brand accessories, etc. off Amazon Warehouse Deals. And there are a lot of counterfeit gun accessories out there (some of them fairly convincing), made by Chinese factories to appeal to the airsoft/tacticool dress-up/mall ninja crowd who don't want to pay the money for the real deal but who want to look like they have the real deal. So buyer beware, even on gun accessories.

You aren’t kidding. I buy them all the time. I keep a prettt decent wish list and run through it every few days looking for warehouse deals. I wish there was someway to notify you when something in your wish list gets a warehouse deal. Got a dog bed delivered today that was a warehouse deal. Saved like $22. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand.
