Looking for a pair of flip-up irons for AR15 and just a little overwhelmed with everything out there. I tried a set of Magpul Gen-3's and honestly was disappointed. Rear sight was fuzzy to look through, like the hole wasn't drilled out too cleanly and they did not fit the Picatinny rail very well, literally had to drive them on with a mallet. Ended up having to file some material away as they just would not near the top of the Pic rail. Anyway looking for some aluminum flip-ups that are spring loaded...push button deploy that lock into place.

For fixed sights, looking mostly at Daniel Defense, Samson, and Troy.

Thanks in advance!

You tried plastic Magpuls? I run either their Pros, or Matech rears on guns with a fixed front sight post.

^ Rogue beat me to it.

I have a set of Troy front and rear sights I got on a black Friday sale. I like them well enough and Troy is running a 20% off sale for presidents day. I think I'd get the HK hooded style if I had to do it again though.

I'm eyeing the Daniel Defense fixed sights for my latest upper. I like how they look.

I like my Troy! H&K style front sight.

MATECH BUIS is working great on my work gun.
Daniel Defense has a solid product too.

I like Leapers UTG Pro. Unlike their entry-level stuff from overseas, these are made in Michigan. They're not feature-rich, but they have positive adjustment, stay where mounted, and a pretty low profile. And they're inexpensive.

For flip up sights I like Troy. If not flip up the Daniel Defense are great, have two sets on rifles.

I was going to go HK drum style (zephyr?) diopter. I miss the AR 1913 version I had but my 553 has given them back to me.

I like the MATECH rear sight because it's already calibrated for both the M16 and M4 rifles.

I liked the Matech. I still have the one off my old AR I sold. What SgtGold said, plus it was small and very simple.

Our issued M4s had the Matech BUIS. The were very rugged and range adjustable; I installed it when I was building my own M4.

curious did you buy your Magpul on eBay or Amazon? Because they’re usually crappy Chinese counterfeits and are indeed garbage. I’ve gotten ripped off on a couple.
