This came from an estate, in which i also obtained the SP1 I posted about here recently.

I have never personally seen a nice Russian SKS and while arsenal refinished, as i read most all were, this is nice Russian gun. Some quick photos:

Now, all I have to learn to take it apart as I have never had a SKS and buy ammo. I have had AKs and imagine it will be similar to disassemble.

Not really. Despite using the same round and having similar iron sights, the SKS isn't just a semiauto-only AK with a fixed mag and traditional stock.

Different gas operating system.

Different bolt and carrier.

Different method of retaining the dust cover.

Different fire control group.

So different disassembly.

I'd recommend looking up a SKS disassembly tutorial online. There are a bunch of options, either video or text.

Not hard to strip down at all. Most important to keep the bolt firing pin/channel clean so it rattles.
