I just checked out one of these that came in recently to our shop.

I installed one behind my SPARC AR that's on my AR pistol and I'm digging this set up.

Previously, my experience with 3Xs has been with Aimpoint. For this Vortex version, I don't understand the reason for the windage and elevation adjustments on the 3X. Is this to allow for differences in height/positioning between the 3X and red dot?

It allows you to center the dot in the magnifier.

Ok. Kinda figured it was something along those lines. I wanted to see if there was anything more to it besides this.
