I was quoted 1 month and they had it in my hands in 35 days.
Here is my take on my new rifle. She is a beautiful heavy beast. 6GT has less recoil than 6.5, so I think this gun will be extremely pleasurable to shoot.
The build quality is fantastic. The bolt is very smooth with an easy light lift. It is easy to work without removing your head from the stock. The stock is milled flat to ride bags better. Speaking of stocks, the finish on the Manners stock just feels good. The Trigger Tech trigger is light and crisp. I can see the differences between this custom gun and my factory guns. The quality is not even close. I think you get a lot for $2999…lol
As far as extras, I paid the $150 for bedding which took the 3/4 guarantee to a 3/8” guarantee. I also paid $50 extra to cerakote the barrel to match the action.
I mounted up my SWFA HD 5-20 on a set of Seekins Precision low rings. Load development starts tomorrow with range time on Monday. Report to follow.

I was able to get out to the range today while the temperature is still in the 70’s. Temps are dropping tonight into the 20’s which is too damn cold for Florida…lol.
Anyway….I loaded up 30 rds of 108gr Hornady ELDM’s, using new Hornady brass, CCI 450 primers and Varget powder. Charge weights were 30gr to 34grs. I also shot with my Polonium 30 suppressor using a SWFA 5-20 HD optic which acquitted itself quite well.
33.3gr and 34gr gave the best accuracy. Velocity with the 33.3gr load was 2860fps and 2920fps with the 34gr load. I’m going to load more of those two and go from there.
Winds were gusting to 15mph, so I will blame that on the flyers .
Recoil was nothing. I see this becoming my most used gun.

6GT sucks, GAP is awful and you should dispose asap...I will send an address for proper disposal
All kidding aside, GAP makes awesome rifles and I missed out again this year on it. After looking a lot at the 6GT, I was set to go down that road as I think it's a pretty solid choice. I have 308/260/6CM, don't really need the GT but nice to have a second setup.

You made a really good choice going with 6GT.
If I may offer a recommendation. My 6 ARC likes both the Hornady 105 Aeromatch and the Berger 105 Hybrids MUCH better than the Hornady ELD.
I initially tried the Hornady ELD bullets in quite a few different rifles chasing that high BC that they offer. They have become one of my least favorite bullets for precision shooting once I tried a few others. Bergers for 6mm and Sierra HPBT for 5.56. The Hornady Aeromatch gave me better results than the ELDM.
I suspect you will see excellent consistency if you try either of those. Not that there is anything wrong with that 34gr load!

It is really popular on the PRS circuit. Some guys opt for the milder 6BR or 6BRA. But you can load the 6GT to the same velocity as those or push it a little more if you want the velocity or find a better node on the higher end.

Those breakaway nylon coaster thingies make excellent throw levers. And if by chance they take a big impact, they break instead of transmitting that force to your optic.

It's hard to beat the Vortex Razor line for the money. If the budget allows for it, Tangent Theta and ZCO are the creme de la creme.

Thank you both for the insight on optics. You guys always give a great perspective on gear needed for this hobby of ours.
When it comes to optics I take my time when purchasing one. I’m not in the camp that I need a 3-4k optic for the type of shooting I do. I have no issues springing for nice gear. I’ve posted plenty on here that validates that.
My plan is to look through as many of the optics that my local shooters are using on their long range guns. That will give me much more useful data than buying and hoping that it works for me.
I did look through a Razor HD Gen 2 3-18 that I really liked. I just missed a like new one on my local forums for $900. For now, the SWFA is working fine until I decide what I want to replace it with and I’m able to use the gun now. Groups aren’t bad either.

It’s obvious that for what you’re doing at present your present setup is far more than not bad.
One thing I should remind myself of more often is that in general, equipment in the shooting sports tends to get better with time, and if not less expensive in absolute terms, certainly less expensive in terms of what we get for our money. If we want something now and can afford it now, then there’s no reason not to get it now. If, however, what we have now is good enough for now, then chances are that when we want something better for whatever reason, it will be better than what’s available now.

I have about 500 rounds through my 6GT. It was rebarrelled by GA Precision with a Bartlein 26" M24 profile barrel and Area 419 Hellfire brake. My rifle (Stiller action) was previously a 6MM Creedmoor, and I chose the 6GT for better barrel life. I've been shooting the Berger 105 Hybrid with Varget powder and see no need to change. I think George Gardner recommends about 34 grains. Oh, and my rifle is in an AICS stock, and the Magpul magazines work perfectly.

Great rifle, someday I hope to get a GAP in the stable.
I have been very happy with my 6.5x47s with Alpha Munitions brass. I think I might even like it better than the Lapua brass to work with.
