It's a 9mm blowback carbine that looks a lil like this:

Somewhere between the mac and the mp5, you'll find the DOE. Compact, oh yes, simple, oh yes, and it will run when the the mp5 goes dry.

Would you like an exact copy?

Because I can compare it to a real upper, I can say that Liemohn is where to go to get one. PSA has been teasing, and while they'll likely do it cheaper, will they do it better? I doubt it.

Yes that's my Colt 9mm, it's a registered SBR, good luck hijacking the serial number.

Sweet! Are they special mags or a normal brand. If I were to get a pistol caliber carbine, that the ticket!

Appears to be normal Colt SMG pattern mags.

Looks like a fun gun. Would be cool to add one to the safe at some point, but I still object on principle to the NFA tax for an sbr and/or suppressor.

Colt pattern yes.

SBR's are easy peasy. As David said, we all object. Object all you like in one hand, or pay $200 in the other and see which one has an NFA item first. The "pistol brace" shit is dumb as hell. Burn the NFA and ATF down? Sure. But I've done this 6 times now, and it's fine. It's paperwork.

I did do a "modern" upper, I'll dig that out later. The engraving on the lower is on the lip of the mag well.. perfect.

Those things are just classics. Very sweet.

I have a 9mm SBR and I'm not a dedicated enough cloner to splurge on a correct DOE....

But they are very cool.

I don't object to the paperwork or being known to big brother or whatever. It's just paying $200 for the ability to have a shorter barrel chaps my ass, especially when that's ~ 2 days bring home for me.
I like it, looks cool and is likely a riot to shoot, but I'll stick to 16" guns or just build "pistols" til there is some resolution on the NFA. I'm cheap. I know this about myself. It's not likely to change and is part of why my daily is old enough to buy beer.

As I understand it, the $200 was a kingly sum circa 1932, and idiots like Biden want to make it a yearly fee.. I rather doubt the NFA goes anywhere. I would expect, if anything the NFA stays but more machineguns would be allowed to be produced. For me, and the suppressors and SBRs I've owned, $200 for the life of the piece isn't terrible. But of course all gun laws are dumb...

I did get a more practical left handed side charger for it, which I should grab an optic for..

I understand the sentiment but NFA stuff is fun. I have long since forgotten about the $200 on any tax stamp.

Actually, I took the option for two of the 'free-BRs' when it was offered. Just one or two SBR registered lowers open up all kinds of opportunities for upper swaps.

For anyone interested, I did see PSA is releasing a copy of the DOE under their H&R retro brand.

$1200 MSRP for a 635 right now, don't see any DOE.. The Liemohn upper was $1100 and change, but lordy be well worth it, particularly if you shop Colt.

If PSA will produce the same exacting quality, ooook... great. More power to the masses. I just hope in the process they don't squash Tom. He's great, and the product, holy shit. I wouldn't hesitate to use him for Mp5 stuff.

Saw that. Looks pretty good from what I can see other than the 5/8-24 muzzle threads, cant say I understand that move. Might be a nice upper to add minus that.
