Asking for votes post permission

Would it be permitted to put up a post in The Lounge asking people to considering voting for a member of my extended family - Josh Boggi in the below competition? This is a UK competition not US but as you can see Josh is a particularly inspiring guy who lost both legs and one arm in Afghanistan.
