wrightdMy registered (pay for) email is being discontinued by my provider
My SF registered (pay for) email address is being discontinued by my provider, and my new pay-for email provider is being rejected by the Sigforum. The provider of my SF registered email is getting out of the email business.
How may I fix this. Without a fix my existing registered email address will eventually die without notice, as they've told me via phone support.

wrightdMy new mail address is a pay for secure email provider, proton.me. gmail is pretty bad from a security pov, approaching zero by my understanding. When communicating with other Sigforum members I believe email security is helpful for trading personal contact and shipping info, gun serial numbers and FFL into, that sort of thing. I'd cringe to send personal info to anyone else in the forum using gmail, including communication from Sigforum admins if they needed to. Eventually my registered email address will be gone, my current pay for cable provider is bailing on their email service that I've used forever. It was more secure than gmail, but not as secure as proton, who is known worldwide for very secure vpn and email service.

parabellumThere's nothing stopping you from listing your protonmail address as your display email. The restriction we have is placed upon the account email address, which is used only for purposes of communicating with the forum software. Your account email address is hidden to all except you and the forum administrator.
Change your account email address to any address you wish, as long as it is not restricted from being used as an account email address. It doesn't have to be a gmail address. You will know if a particular domain is restricted, when you try to change your account email address.
Do you know who likes to use protonmail and other encrypted email addresses as their account email address? Scammers like to use encrypted email. This is why it became
necessary to place restrictions on the use of such domains.
In the "Display Email" field in your profile, put your protonmail address. This is what members will see, and nothing else. The only people who can see your display email are you, the administrator, and members who are logged into their account, and have a registration date before March 22, 2022.
